Hello Splinterlands warriors, weekends are usually my time to relax—checking my deck, browsing the market, sometimes just scrolling through my collection while thinking, “Who should I use today?” And among the lineup of cards I saw that day, one made me pause.
Her name is Kaori Matsune.
At first glance, Kaori isn’t the type of card that screams to be used. She’s a Legendary Neutral from Arcana Conclave, with a mana cost of only 5 and a magic attack that goes straight to the enemy’s health. But what caught my attention wasn’t her stats—it was her aura.
Her design feels like a dragon noble who doesn’t need to show her power, yet everyone knows she’s dangerous.
And it turns out, that impression wasn’t wrong.
The first time I faced Kaori, I didn’t expect much. I thought she’d just be another mage in the middle of the lineup. But once the battle started, I slowly began to realize that she’s not just a damage dealer.
She’s a rhythm disruptor.
With Snipe, Kaori doesn’t bother attacking the tank. She immediately targets the backline—mages, archers, supports—the usual “brains” of the enemy team. Within a few rounds, I watched my key units fall one by one.
And that’s when I caught myself smiling.
“So this card is pretty sneaky too…”
At the next level, Kaori unlocked Silence. This is where I truly felt that this card was different. With Kaori on the field, the enemy’s damage feels like the volume has been turned down. Their attacks are still there, but no longer intimidating.
What fascinated me the most was when Kaori reached max level and gained Immunity. At that point, she transformed from a regular mage into a true survivor. No poison, no negative effects—she keeps standing, keeps attacking, keeps disrupting.

What surprised me the most about Kaori is her simplicity.
She only has three abilities: Snipe, Silence, and Immunity. Not many, and not complicated. But that’s exactly why each one works perfectly.
She’s like someone who doesn’t talk much—but when she does, it goes straight to the point.
My takeaway?
Kaori Matsune is a card that teaches us that power doesn’t always have to be flashy. Sometimes, precision is enough.
Strategies I took from this experience:
- Use her in rulesets like Wands Out to maximize Silence
- Pair her with teams that focus on tempo control
- Avoid Counterspell unless you’re ready to take the risk
- Use Snipe to eliminate enemy supports faster
Because in the end, Kaori isn’t the kind of card that destroys the enemy team in a single round…
…but she will make sure, round by round, that your opponent gradually loses every path to victory.
