Hello, Splinterlands Warriors!
How’s everyone doing this week? Looking at the crypto market lately, it’s been quite a rollercoaster, right? HIVE and SPS are still fluctuating, but our fighting spirit in the arena has to stay solid! Amid all that, I just had one of the most thrilling battles ever—and I can’t wait to tell you about it: a duel between two true mimics, where both players relied on Olivia of the Brook and her incredible Mimic ability.
🌀 The Battle Begins: Two Minds, One Strategy
Among all the abilities in Splinterlands, Mimic has always been one of my favorites. Imagine a monster that can copy enemy abilities mid-battle—it’s not only unique but full of surprises. And my favorite wielder of that power is the elegant Olivia of the Brook. Every time I deploy her, there’s this mix of calm confidence and nervous excitement—because you never know how things will turn out.
This time, it turned out my opponent had the same idea! Our lineups were almost identical.
With a 90 mana cap and the Born Again ruleset, I went for a Dragon + Life combination. My lineup was:
KAVOR SKARN, SONGALE, NIGHT REAPER, KELAN GAINES, JANNI REBEL, OLIVIA OF THE BROOK, and CHAOS BATTLE MAGE.
Meanwhile, my opponent brought:
KAVOR SKARN, LEOFIN SIFU, NIGHT REAPER, DRAGON EGG FORAGER, OLIVIA OF THE BROOK, JANNI REBEL, and CONCLAVE TRACKER.
It felt like a mirror match—two armies reflecting each other, with the true key lying in the mimics themselves.
⚔️ The Battle Unfolds
Round 1:
The fight opened with a deadly clash between both Night Reapers. Luckily, my Kelan Gaines provided crucial support, bringing the enemy Reaper to near death. My Olivia seized the moment, using her Opportunity attack. Songale held the frontline with Taunt, fell, and revived at the end of the round thanks to Born Again.
Round 2:
The enemy Night Reaper went down, revived, and then fell again in the same round. My Olivia began copying some of the opponent’s abilities—and that’s when Mimic started to shine. Unfortunately, Songale fell for good, feeding the opponent’s Dragon Egg Forager and boosting its Scavenger HP to monstrous levels.
Round 3:
Things got intense. Kelan Gaines landed a blow on the enemy Olivia, who was then finished off by mine. But Born Again revived her once more. Meanwhile, Dragon Egg Forager had grown to 14 HP, and my Night Reaper finally went down.
Rounds 4–5:
The battle turned brutal. My Olivia mimicked Scavenger and Repair, growing tougher with every fallen monster. Even after Janni Rebel was defeated, Olivia held strong and stepped up as the main tank.
Rounds 6–8:
With most of my team gone, my Olivia transformed into a living fortress. Her ever-growing HP from Scavenger, combined with Chaos Battle Mage’s arrows from the backline, slowly whittled down the enemy one by one. Eventually, the mighty Dragon Egg Forager—once the biggest threat—fell, and… boom!
Victory was mine. 🎉

💡 Key Takeaways & Lessons
The most fascinating part of this match was that both players used Olivia of the Brook—but the difference lay in positioning. Placing Olivia near the back proved far more effective, since the longer she survives, the more abilities she can copy.
Also, the Born Again ruleset gave huge advantages to monsters with Scavenger, as every resurrection on the field added more HP.
Honestly, I’m amazed at how versatile Olivia can be. She adapts to any situation, becoming whatever the battlefield demands. This win wasn’t just about card strength—it was about patience and letting Mimic reach its full potential.
🧭 Final Thoughts & Tips
Thinking about it, this kind of battle teaches so many valuable lessons for new players. For example, learning from your opponent’s strategy—sometimes the best way to understand a card is to see how others use it.
This match proved that in Splinterlands, having the same strategy doesn’t mean you’ll get the same result.
Positioning, order, and timing matter more than anything. And for those who love using Olivia of the Brook, make sure she stays alive long enough—because that’s when her true power shines.
See you in the next arena, Splinterlands warriors! 🔥💫
