Voltage and resistance
The ability of an electrical source (battery or cell) to push the electric charge depends on its voltage. The voltage of an electrical energy source (battery or cell) is a measure of its ability to push the charge in an electric circuit. It is measured in volts (V). a torch cell has 1.5 volts (V). In order to increase the voltage of an electrical source, two or more cells are connected one after the other in series.
