It had been a while since I was ready to record something with guitar, in this instrument I am less skilled than with the bass but I can defend myself with some songs. In my presentation of week 10 of the Vibes Web3 Music Competition I share with you a guitar and bass cover of the song “In my Time of Need”, it is from the swedish band “Opeth” and corresponds to the album “Damnation” from 2003. This song is one of my favorites of this virtuous band and the truth is that I never thought I could at least try to play one of their songs.
For this week the moderation proposed the theme “Eurovision”, I know that it is a very important festival in Europe and that this year will be held in Sweden, so at least I tried to adapt taking into account that as I said before, the band Opeth is precisely from that country.
It was a very interesting challenge to record these two instruments, so I removed the bass and guitar from the original track, so only the drums and vocals were left, so it was interesting to know that in the end I would hear my bass and guitar on such an iconic song.
To support me in this presentation, I used the Moises application and the Cubase 5 audio editing program. I also used my Lexicon Alpha audio interface. I wish good luck to all the participants in this competition, best wishes!
