It's been long since I added my voice to this music community, simply because I don't have a great voice and I thought I should stop. However, I saw the community update that both writers and listeners have been included in the entries where we can simply review some performances by sharing why we liked a specific entry, what stood out, and our overall impressions. That's thoughtful, I must say.
I have been listening to so many entries each week, enjoying people's talents being unleashed here. For this week, there are so many entries I loved so much as I listened, which made it hard for me to choose one amongst many good others, but then I was moved to review one of those songs for this week by , with a song titled IMELA by Nathaniel Bassy.
Firstly, the song is an appreciation song that was born out of total reflection on God's mercy, His faithfulness, and His goodness upon man. Despite the fact that we aren't worthy before God, He still shows up for us, extending His love and kindness in many ways in our lives. You know, it's always a good thing when we are reminded to always express gratitude to God for everything, even in the little things we can think of that he did. I was revived listening to this song; I kept reflecting on many of God's blessings and giving him gratitude alongside. I think seeing the original author of this song was what drew my attention to this particular hive author's entry I am reviewing here. Nathaniel Bassy has been a blessing to our generation through many of his soul-lifting songs, and it's great.
Moving further, I think the author, Anslem, did well with his guitar while covering the song. The first thing that captivated me was his stage setup. I simply love how unique it is...more of an intentional musician, and it's admirable. Then the way he was playing the guitar, attaching so much emotion to the song. Even though he wasn't singing along vocally as he played his guitar, you could sense his inner soul singing along.
However, I am wondering if it's possible to play guitar 🎸 and sing along. I think I have seen some singers do this, and I feel it's not easy to combine both, but then it will make more sense if Anslem can try playing his guitar and singing alongside.
Overall, his performance was admirable; I enjoyed his entry!
