Student Week Vibes at Doo Poly (formerly known as Abia poly)🎉
Hello Vibes family đź‘‹đź’™
I really wanted to share how my day went today because it was honestly one of the best days I’ve had in school in a while. We celebrated Student Week at Dr. Ogbonnaya onu Polytechnic (formerly known as Abia state polytechnic), and the whole campus was filled with excitement, laughter, and so much energy. It wasn’t the usual routine of lectures, rushing around, and stressing over assignments. Today was different. Today was about fun, relaxation, and creating memories. From the moment I entered the campus, I could already feel the change. Students were beautifully dressed, everywhere was colorful, and music was playing in the background. The atmosphere was so lively that even if you came in with a dull mood, you would immediately feel lifted. I told myself right away, this is going to be a good day.
The main event of the day was the handover ceremony of Miss and Mr. Dr. Ogbonnaya onu polytechnic Doopoly(formerly known as aspoly). This is always the highlight of Student Week, and I was really looking forward to it. For weeks, students had been talking about who might win, making guesses, and even debating who deserved the crown. So, by the time the event started, the tension and excitement were high.
When the outgoing Mr. and Miss Dr ogbonnaya Polytechnic(formerly known as Abia state polytechnic) walked onto the stage, the whole crowd went wild. They looked absolutely stunning, and you could see the pride in their faces. As they waved at the cheering students, it was obvious that they had enjoyed their time carrying those titles. They gave short farewell speeches, appreciating their supporters and encouraging the new winners to hold the crown with dignity. I could sense the emotions in their voices—it was a mixture of pride, gratitude, and maybe a little sadness that their time had come to an end
Then came the big announcement that everyone had been waiting for. The hall was tense, students were shouting names, and people were standing up just to get a clearer view. When the names of the new winners were finally called, the entire place erupted in excitement. The new Miss Abia Poly walked up gracefully, smiling brightly as the crown was placed on her head. She looked so confident and beautiful. The new Mr. Doo Poly (formerly known as Aspoly)also stepped forward boldly, carrying himself with pride and confidence. The cheering was so loud, I could barely hear the music playing in the background.
Even though I wasn’t part of the competition, I felt the excitement as if I had won something myself. That’s the beauty of moments like this—they bring everyone together. Whether or not you knew the winners personally, you still felt proud of them. It was a celebration of students, for students.
After the crowning, the event became even more lively. The DJ kept the energy up by dropping back-to-back hits, and almost nobody wanted to sit down. Students danced freely, laughing and showing off their moves. Some people were really serious with their dance steps, while others just played around and made everybody laugh. I remember standing with my friends, and we couldn’t stop laughing at one student who was dancing in such a funny way that the whole crowd cheered him on. It was all good vibes.
What I loved most about today was the feeling of togetherness. On a normal school day, everyone is focused on their own struggles—lectures, deadlines, assignments, and personal stress. But today, we all came together to celebrate as one family. It reminded me that school is not only about books and exams but also about building friendships, creating bonds, and making memories that will last long after we graduate.
The handover moment also got me thinking deeply. Watching the outgoing Mr. and Miss Abia Poly pass the crown to the new winners made me reflect on life itself. Everything in life has a season. Today, you may be the one holding the crown, and tomorrow you pass it on. What matters most is the impact you make while you have the chance. That thought stayed with me long after the program ended.
Of course, I didn’t leave without taking pictures. In fact, I probably took more pictures today than I’ve taken all month. The decorations around the hall were beautiful, and everywhere looked like the perfect backdrop. My friends and I snapped near the stage, in front of the banners, and even in random spots that looked nice.
I know when I look back at those pictures later, they will remind me of the laughter, the music, the cheers, and the happiness of this Student Week.By the time I was heading home, I was still smiling. I kept replaying the whole event in my head—the farewell speeches, the crowning moment, the crowd’s excitement, the dancing, and the joy that filled the atmosphere. It honestly felt like a live movie, but the best part was that I was part of it.
As I reflect on the day, I feel truly grateful. Grateful that I experienced something so memorable, grateful for the laughter and joy, and grateful to be a student of Abia Poly. Today showed me again that school life isn’t just about getting a certificate. It’s about the journey, the growth, the friendships, and the experiences that we carry with us forever.
So yes, that was my day, Vibes fam. Student Week 2025 will definitely remain one of the best experiences of my time in school so far. If you weren’t there, honestly, you missed a lot. But as for me, I’m just happy I was part of it, and I’ll forever hold on to the memory.
Thanks for reading my gist ❤️ Till next time ✨
