This is a wonderful gesture. This post of yours has made me feel so hopeful and confident in a great way. Let me tell you one small back story.

This time I participated in this contest for the first time. Before my participation, I was quite unsure about my chances of winning mainly because I had sung an unplugged song without music and I had checked that out of the 36 finalists from the last 6 weeks, there was not a single singing entry without music. This information indicates that your voice alone will not be enough, music is also necessary along with it.
To be honest, I was quite disappointed because the recreated version of songs that I like singing sounds best without the music. But still, in the hope of giving it a try, I published my first entry in this contest 2 days ago, but I still had the statistics information in my mind that without music there are no chances.
And then today, maybe a day before the selection, I saw this beautiful post of yours where you yourself have given a performance without music. And after seeing this, I got fast-charged all at once, haha! Even if I don't get selected this time, I will surely try again, but now at least I know that there is no compulsory rule for having background music.
