Super Melee Adventure 64 is probably the best SM64 ROM Hack I've ever played.
There are 6 different levels. Each level has a different theme/character. The levels are: Link, Metroid, Captain Falcon, Pikachu, Starfox and Mario. Each level has a single star.
The level creation is very high quality for a ROM Hack.
The hardest star/level that took me forever to beat was the Link level. This map is made to look like an Ocarina of Time dungeon. There are some awesome re-creations of OOT monsters like Octorok, Zombies and Like Like. They re very basic though. The like like throws you in a random direction, and the zombies just bump into you.
When you find the ocarina of time, it makes some invisible boxes appear around the level. Once you head back to the top of the level, there is a series of insanely difficult parkour. It LOOKS like an ocarina of time level, but its really hard with marios moves [at least without a joystick].
You can walk/fall thorough all the giant tiles with the scary faces, so be careful. This was a huge "rage quit" moment for me: After those dificult side flips I fell right through the level.🤣
To get to the end of the level , you need to YEET a zombie off the wooden bridge.
The Pikachu level is really easy. You just have to jump/punch etc a bunch of Pikachu and collect blue coins. The level is nightmarish, but its not difficult.
The Mario level is also pretty easy. It's very nicely constructed though. You need to collect the red coins and the star appears. The map is big so try not to fall off or you have to swim far.
The Captain Falcon level is easy as well, but you can fall off if you aren't careful. You also need to jump into the ship ASAP to win. If you take too long to get into the ship you will lose. Basically, your enemy gets a head start, but goes slightly slower than you.
The Metroid level is difficult. You need to do a carefully spaced combination of long jumps and side flips. You also need to do a wall jump and a jump off a pole. This level has a countdown.
The last level is Starfox. A very awesome red coin hunt. What an amazing map! And there is a little X fighter airplane you ride to get some of the coins! This part is really difficult because the flames from the main airplane will burn you. If you inch your way onto the right wing of the little plane, you will end up on the side of the flames and wont get burned. Then you need to jump back onto the plane.
Once you have all 6 stars, you need to defeat Bowsers final form.
Overall I would give this ROM Hack a 9/10. Easily one of the best ROM Hakcs I have ever played! The level creation is excellent. The cross overs are fun. You need to be familiar with SM64 to win, but it's not impossible. It's very playable. Lots of customization from the monsters to the icons and stars. Would highly recommend this ROM Hack.
