Until Then is a narrative adventure with beautiful pixel art set in the modern Philippines. In the aftermath of a global catastrophe called "The Ruling" and the trauma and loss caused by it, the game story follows Mark Borja and his friends, exploring their daily lives. Until Then explores many themes such as loss, memory, and the passage of time.
Part 23 - The Finale - "I Don't Want to Forget You"
This part of my Until Then Let's Play covers Chapters 4 and 5 of the game's third run. This part covers the climax of the game all the way to the finale.
Mark and Nicole continue their mission of collapsing colliding realities, and every time they do, The Ruling's damages get worse.
Later Mark wakes up in a new reality where he has no way to contact Nicole. He tries his best to save Cath, (he goes to the place she was supposed to disappear,) and maybe meet with Nicole and cause the final collapse to happen.
The final mystery of the game is revealed. Mark gets to see Nicole's past with Jake as Nicole sees Mark's past with his mother. I'm not sure what the game is trying to tell us, but I think that Mark's mother and Jake were the actual cause of realities colliding.
Finally we see the ending, and how all the characters move on with their lives. No one is dead. Thank God! But it seems that Mark and Nicle don't know each other in this final reality. It's bittersweet, but I guess Louise and Cath are safe so it's okay.
I would love to see a sequel to this game!
