I was always interested in Fate/Grand Order since I got into the franchise two/three years ago. Problems that prevented me is that the game isn't available in my region and that my Android phone is too weak to run it. I could get around the region lock with VPN but the hardware can only be improved by replacing it.
Then at one point it hit me. I could use some Android Emulator on PC and play all the mobile games I wanted to try but couldn't, but when I tried Bluestacks, it couldn't run even the simplest apps without being too slow, so I gave up on the idea.
Last month. however, someone advised me to try Nox Emulator. I was skeptical at first as Bluestacks was regarded as the best Android emulator and it was very slow for me. But I was told that Nox works differently and it could run better than Bluestacks in some computers. I didn't want to try it at first but I watched Fate/Stay Night UBW Abridged, got into Fate mania, and the rest was history~
Nox Emulator is still slow on my PC, but not so slow I can't handle it. It could run apps that my Android phone can't, and I'm still experimenting on its limits with my 10-years old computer. Anyway, I just tried Fate/Grand Order and while it's slow and had a bad framerate in the emulator, it's playable and I'm immensely enjoying it!
I'm not so far into the story to know where its going. (I'm still in the third Tutorial mission and have just unlocked the "Menu.") But I like the premise of this game: Trained magicians, using technology to ensure that humanity will still exist in the future 100 years from now.
The characters in this game are likable too... From the first 10 minutes of the game we get introduced to three/four important characters, each one of them. O already saw Mash in many promotinal materials of Fate franchise so I was happy to finally know what her personality is like. (Ah, she's a Kouhai waifu~) Marie is basically Rin!
I wonder if we'll see an older Rin Tohsaka, Shirou or Sakura.
This is another Japanese Gacha game with luck so low for legendary cards that some people have spent $70,000 on the game or at least their entire life savings maxing a character. I believe I'll be a Free-Play person as I was in all other similar games, depending more on my game earnings, log-in bonuses, and luck to build a decent team from what I have, instead of using money to build a powerful dream team. I already played this way in Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links.
features multiple universes, magic, and time travel. As well as many (and I mean MANY) beings that exist outside the timeline of these multiple-universes. It's confusing but once you understand it becomes awesome. Fate/Grand Order takes it a step further by having characters aware of this about their universe and are trying to help the humanity on a larger scale.
Anyway, I'm still early into the game, and I don't know if I will love or hate it. (Or how forgiving it is for Free-players.) But for now I decided to replace my online game from Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links to this one, at least temporarily. Hope to give you update articles on the game as I go on~
