The story starts off with Aveline on the piano. Her father steps in and complements her playing skills. She replied humbly. Mr. Grandpré feels blessed that he had a fine daughter who was not involved in such were committed daily, especially after the arrival of the Spanish. He asked Aveline to meets with Blanc at the warehouse at her free time and left to attend his other matters. He left by saying that her charm would protect her if she decided to head out to the streets.
The general citizen were at an uproar about the rise in missing people count. Slaves and people alike. The guards were getting agitated and were about to charge at the angry mob.
The fight did start but Aveline took out the attacking guards. Then she asked the reason for the commotion. The woman informed her about the amount of people missing was rising. The man suggested that the kidnappings rose after the Spanish got here. Still no proof of Spanish indulgence was found. The woman complained that life became even harder. Aveline asked them to get evidence of Spanish activity and the man asked her how to get it instead. She was silent.
Aveline meets with Blanc at the warehouse and he introduces her to the new base of operations. Her world map of trading routes.
This was the initial trading business route. It hadn’t expanded yet.
Her room where her guises would be stored, here she can change her persona easily.

Also, Blanc had created a new weapon for Aveline, an umbrella that shot arrows when a button at the handle was pressed. Aveline didn’t know how to operate and thought it was a parasol. Blanc then demonstrated how it worked.
A certain man called Bouché, previously caught twice for watering his wine, was now spreading rumours about their product I.e coffee. This had an impact over the company as he situated a stall and passed bills saying that coffee would erode people’s nerves! Aveline takes up the matter to her own hands and went out to stop the slander.
Aveline approached the man shouting the false information in the crowd and asked for his master. He pointed to the docks, he claimed that he didn’t even know how to read.
The man saw Aveline and begged to let him live. He knew that he was wrong to do something so unethical. Aveline asked the man firmly to stop slandering the de Grandpré reputation, the false information booth, and issue an official public apology about the matter.
The man in return told her that his entire savings was put into the tea stocks and his company was daily losing money and slaves as coffee was gaining more popularity. He was also losing slaves. He had to put a stop to it. Aveline with a disgusted tone told the man that those who owned slaves who deserve such fate.
Blanc said that Bouché was going bankrupt, he Spahn to sell his shops off to make ends meet. Meanwhile, he suggested to increase Aveline’s business empire by trading to more distant lands and make an impact over the market.
Aveline now came to Gérald about disappearing slaves again. She assumed that the incident would end by the end of Governor d’Abbadie. But now, not only labourers but poor and slaves also were missing. Blanc suggested to send informants but Aveline volunteered to do the job herself. Blanc suggested to start her investigation at Saint Danje.
Aveline buys a new ship, it has a capacity of holding 150 unit and a speed of 50 units. Not a bad choice given that the trading routes was relatively small.
