Eavesdropping on the mercenary who were planning to eradicated further rebel gangs in the area.
Connor finds Thomas Hickey, the man who was supposedly planning to assassinate George Washington. Connor argues how Washington is keeping the Continental Army together and the the hope for freedom lives. Their conversation were cut short when a guard catches them and accuses Connor if counterfeiting cash. He was knocked out.
Connor wakes up from the cell and was relieved to see Hickey on the other side. This meant that Washington was safe. Hickey notifies the presence of others who could carry out the task in his stead. Hickey was bailed for a brief amount of time though when Haytham and Charles Lee showed up.
Haytham asks Charles to take care of the assassin related endeavour. Hickey was not fully bailed as he was being investigated for plotting to murder Washington.
Words were spread inside the prison of a man who had a plan to escape from the prison. His name was Mason Weems. Weems explains part of his plan, to steal a key from a guard nearby.
Connor later understood the broader picture when Mason says that the fake key he had created, took 3 months to make, could be swapped with the Warden’s key who does not check his key very often. And to reach the Warden he had to start a fight with the inmates to a degree where the guards had to throw him to a pit. The only place that the Warden over watched personally.
He swapped the key successfully and escaped the cell with Mason’s help. He promises to help Mason in anyway he could should he be able to. Mason then explained how with the right connections even prison life could be lavish. Hickey was staying inside the bigger rooms.
Connor swiftly directed towards Hickey’s cell only to find the Warden dead in his bed. Then Hickey exclaimed how Connor would be put to trial for conspiring against George Washington and would also be charged for the killing of the warden. Lee would back the whole story and an execution is imminent. Lee figured out that Connor was the kid in the village who had vowed to find him when he would grow older. Lee demeans Washington and his works both military and social way of conducts to Connor and said how killing Washington would be a good thing.
The day of the trial arrived and along went Connor to possibly meets his doom.
No trial was held as Lee had already attached the allegations against Connor prior to his arrival. He further incriminated Connor at the stage saying how Connor was the twisted man with the evil deed of trying to kill Washington.
The league of assassins were nearby for help and cut his rope from the neck and thus freeing Connor. Achilles asked him for the signal when he would need the assistance before he went upstage. Connor finds Hickey and kills him. Hickey then admitted that he had no regrets serving under Haytham even though they had glorious plans for the future as long as he was getting paid for it. Hickey only wanted the pleasured which made Connor disgusted. In his last moments, Hickey said that he had received that which he had and wanted even though Haytham had grand plans whereas Connor’s fill would always be empty as he was selfless, wanted to the greater good for the public.
Connor was surrounded by patriots but were made to lower their weapons due to a high ranking officer named Israel Putnam. He proclaimed Connor to be a hero. He says that Washington went for Philadelphia when the news of the execution had reached him. But Connor told how more opportunists would likely try to get him midway.
Meanwhile Shaun found a second power source. It was with a rich businessman’s wife. She was wearing it as a bracelet. The team headed for the place.
The woman was killed by the member of an interested party. He made a run for it with Miles tailing him. Miles caught the man and secured the power source.
They came back to their original location.
Shaun found a third power source when Miles was about to start the animus. William asked Desmond to continue with Connor and let him and the others go for the source that was located somewhere in Cairo.
The squabbles between the ex assassin and the rookie was taking place more often. Connor wanted to take more action against the Templars as the numbers were at an alarming quantity that they controlled a nation while Achilles asked him not to only because he wanted to keep Connor safe. He warms Connor to be extra careful for the perilous journey he picked for himself.
