Old Hunters of Yarhnam, I send to you greetings. I hope you are doing well.
Today’s gameplay is half of me getting a mind freeze. Ebrietas is a doozy and her fighting method is pure and simple, just swat and swing. The battle starts in the middle part of the gameplay. (Gameplay at the bottom of the post)
It’s been a long time of grinding in the dungeons and I can confidently say that I have also ascended to the title of “Bloodborne Veteran”. After about a month of grinding, I have finished almost all of the chalices. Even the defiled ones, sinister ones, and the root chalices.
Average Bloodborne Player’s Mind
Clearing dungeons is no easy feat. The developers set traps in all of the chalice dungeons, one of the first ones being the fake level. At the start of the chalice, they show that the dungeon has a potential level 4 yet after beating all the final bosses of each level there isn’t a way to get past level 3. No secret rooms, no bridge jumps, and no overlooked routes. That begs the question, can we really find these hidden rooms? But, there was one such dungeon, most likely the variant of the Ailing Loran chalice, where there was a way to get to level 4. There was a bridge from which, if we jump, we could go directly to level 4. Needless to say that we die from the fall damage but on the screen, the phrase “Loran Level 4” comes up. This one thing got inside my head, can there be ways to get down there, have we all really tried to get there?

There is a video of me clearing the Sinister Great Izs Chalice Dungeon. This video has me covering and finding all of the secret places and clearing all of the areas, a supposed depth of level 5 but really a depth of 3. I am currently a level 168. Yes, played for hours, on and on, grinding these materials for the last chalice, and completed and bought the other chalice variants.
It took about an hour to complete all the levels, and all the secret routes and ways. Each level"s boss was dissected with ease.
(From yours truly’s gameplay)
The first level boss was a Pthumerian Elder, this guy is supposed to be THE hardest boss among other Pthumerian elder bosses. You can clearly see that area that we get to fight is not an open map so to dodge his attacks I had to be pretty "on point" with the timing.
The second-level boss was the second most annoying boss in the game, the Brainsucker. As you can see, the f***** already got me at the start of the battle.
(I own this too)
I remember having 10 insights right out of my throat to this s***. Happened this time too, got 6 of my Insights sucked out.
(Own gameplay)
Thanks to all the grinding, I am OP for this sucker.
(Again, taken from my gameplay)
In the third level, the daughter of Kos, Ebrietas herself. Now, my friends wanted to be a part of this boss fight so I got on a call with them. That's when the idea of using weird stuff to kill the daughter of kos. Pretty f***** up situation when I say it out loud.
Some of you might not know, getting through her first stage is really easy but her second stage is a real challenge, she sprouts out wings and flies around the arena to create some distance, she summons a series of lightning bolts that would track you, she would spit blood at you as a ranged attack that would cause a quick frenzy buildup, she encloses herself in a ball of frenzy, and let me tell you about her grab. If and when she would get to grab you, she would put you in her mouth. A constant frenzy buildup would occur until you escape its clutches, if not, she would gobble you as a whole.
- Frenzy is a slow effect that would build up a frenzy meter slowly and when it’s reached its end you lose a ton of health.
But, you aren’t hit with the "frenzy" buildup right away, if you are hit or you stay within that ball for some time then you get this unstoppable buildup. To counter this, I made sure to get enough of its treatments the sedative pills. I farmed for about 5 minutes in this dungeon, each enemy gave me about 5-6K Blood echoes, bought 20-30 of them before going in for the kill.
Now, I tried multiple ways to kill Ebrietas, but none of them bore any fruit. I tried the Church Cannon, moonlight sword, and the great axe, and when nothing seemed to work I went to the traditional method. Now, to get the traditional method to work, it took about 1-2 tries before I finally beat this beast in the dungeon.
Daughter Of Kos, Ebrietas
This isn't the first time I'm meeting this lady. I met her once before. In the underground part of the Upper Cathedral Ward. She was standing by the corpse of an ascended one, Rom. She would not attack you until you attacked first and when you got to finish her off she could be found again in the Great Izs chalice dungeon. You can learn more about her from the Source 1 and Source 2.
All that's left now is gathering all the necessary materials needed to unlock the final chalice. Albeit it had been such a long time in trying to accomplish that I can say that I had finished all the chalices there was. Next stop, the Great Pthumerian Queen!
