Hello guys, hope all of you are doing good in such an era where you could become anything you want just because you wished to be.
I was in the middle of playing the God Of War 3 when suddenly I had the crazy idea of starting Elden Ring and wanted to see what made this game so special. I got the game and downloaded it within 2 hours.
My friends and I were in our discord call and asked the if they wanted to see me play. They agreed.
I read the instructions they provided me about not sharing anything on the platform and only take it as fun. My friends were like, “Yup, they knew that people can get wild while playing this”.
I was then asked to choose a class for my character. I didn’t know what to take and they made it more suspenseful, they told each other not to help me here during choosing. I took a leap of faith and went for Vagabond here.
Illusion Of Free Choice
Then I was hit with this player customisation. I took about 40 minutes to get it done. I selected the draconian lineage. I basically wanted a vampire outlook but with a darker finish. I also took the crimson amber medallion. This supposedly gave me an increased HP. I didn’t play much souls like games much and so I thought that I would need more health if I wanted to survive in this game.
Firstly, the hair style. There was one that looked very similar to the Witcher. There was one that matched Nagato, from Naruto Shippuden. I chose that.
Then I took the eye Color and made them look like sharingan and rinnegan. All of this took me approximately 40 minutes. All of this was a waste of time. Found it later in the game…
I haven’t checked if all the starting of the different class of characters have different starting scene or not. The rings were broken apart between the land that left a story for the people…
Queen Marika, the eternal was lost amid the chaos.
T’was Godwyn the Golden that perished in the dark night of black knives. A rebellion or an operation of the desperate to seize the control of the land?
And so the children of Marika inherited the broken shards of the Elden Ring. Such a sudden power boost activated the Shattering.
A war was erupted from which no supreme one came to.
They have some sick paintings! This was where it felt like my money was worth it. The narrator then summons the Tarnished, who are dead yet they live. First, Hoarah Loux, chieftain of the badlands(the one in the picture). The ever brilliant golden mask. Fia, the death bead companion. The loathsome Dung Eater.
And Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing. And one other. Whom grace would again bless, a Tarnished of no renown. He was tasked to cross the fog and enter the Land Between. To stand before the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord. Quite dramatic, so much that I dared not speak in between as it would spoil the setting.
Getting to know the controls and the inventory and other controls at first hand. I inspected this message, someone who asked the player to not give up. Maybe a person who had finished playing the game and telling us that?
These two instances and 2 more were there. Here, I touched the bloodstain and saw that the people jumped from the ledge! They expected me to jump as they showed that they did. I was curious but I knew that such games are for people who BECOME dark souled from playing such games. And they find it fun for newbies to fall to their deaths. There are more such traps inside the game, not by the devs but the players themselves.
The first boss, I forgot that I had the ability to attack. The was it moved made me go numb, double sword and a shield to cover the front. No weak spots I thought. And before I knew it, it 4-shotted me and I died☺️. Little did I know that this was only the beginning. I was on the call with my friends throughout the game.
Torrent and the little lady arrived by the Tarnished and she asked Torrent to be patient. A key thing said by the lady, “One of his kind is sure to seek the Elden Ring. Even if it does violate the Golden Order”. Here, the unlimited supply of the crimson tears were bestowed to the Tarnished(only 3x per life or save).
Reached Limgrave and man is the background looking good or what. Loved the art style.

Farmers Are Beggars
I roamed the place first and collected only wild plants and hunted animals. Through the hunt I learned the combat technique. My first prey was a bat.
Got my first human victim after an hour and 10 minutes. Faced him head on and didn’t get any damage. I was ecstatic that I got someone without taking help from anything. I didn’t get any spoilers and haven’t seen any videos of the game. My friends only laughed at my choices and didn’t say shit until I made the first move/mistake that were irreversible like the class selection.
I didn’t yet get the horse from the lady. I came by the Tree Sentinel just to see it’s attack sequence. Didn’t read any message yet that were carved around this beast. I believed that they decided to add this mini boss as a tribute to the Ghost Of Tsushima game. Looked bad ass too. It’s attack had a devastating impact and 3 shotted me XD. This was where I knew that I had to get a horse. Then I thought, farming was useless if I had no battle experience. No amount of farming for the resources would give anyone an edge over the bosses if they don’t know what to expect. I moved on from there and onto the first human territory.
The first item I upgraded at the Church Of Ellen was a long sword that had only 3.5 as weight. Pretty handy it was and helped me clean the normal more efficiently.
Sneaking is a very efficient way of gauging the weakness of any given character except for the bosses. The wolves game me quite the trouble. This was where I learned that parry was only a situation thing and that dodge was the real deal.
The grace outside the Gatefront Ruins is where I met the lady again, her name is Melena. She informed of the Finger maidens who served the Two Fingers, offering guidance and aid tor he Tarnished such as myself. She also told that I was maidenless, maybe a sucker punch to the people who play the game and actually have no maiden. She offered an to be my maiden and also gave me the ring to summon Torrent who had taken a liking to the character.
I found the map of Limgrave by the shrine in Gatefront Ruins where the camp general patrols along with another npc.
20 more minutes in and I eliminated all the guards in the area and found the dungeon. My friends were silent here, I was ready for a surprise as these games tend to mess with the players more and my friends are the veterans here.
To my surprise, I found an affinity booster, a whetstone knife and an ash-of-war affinity. This would allow one of my weapon to have this ability. If I want to install more I would have to remove the current one. I am not sure if I can remove it once it has been attached.

I like the game so far and still don’t know much of the story not it’s locations, only that the bosses are the fearsome ones. More Elden Ring next time, till then…
