Hello guys, hope you are doing good
This episode is a banger one. I completed almost all of the Hinterlands quests. The major ones include: the redcliffe farms, the Valammar trading post, finding the schematics of weapons and shield, entering the new lands.
I am currently at level 7. Thanks to all the running around the lands I got a lot of amazing equipments of which half of them are above my levelđ¤Śââď¸. I got a stunning dagger that does a damage of 172 but I have to be a level 8, same for the helmet of the Vitaar, and other weapons.
Key To Valammar
Mind you, I never saw a video of the game. Finding the key to Valammar was a pure stroke of luck. If you remember, in the first episode I was stuck here and thought to myself, âHow on earth would I find this itty bitty teensy wensy key in this vast map. Itâs like finding a needle in a haystack.
Saving The Bull
This was at the Redcliffe farms, the helping hands asked to retrieve a panicked bull that felt endangered by the wolves and ran away from the place. The first task of the day:
- I went to the area, fought off the wolves. The most difficult part: taking it back. I was frustrated when I saw that the bull was not following me to the point that I went and saw how to clear this place. I discovered that there was an easier route that I could take to bring the druffalo backđ¤Ś. I took that route and brought it back.
Attaining The First Horse
Running around the map had been a drag, moving from place to place was a real challenge. All those resources, animal waiting for their skins to be taken from them was really distracting. Here too I faced frustration when I didnât know how to clear the tracks set up by Elena. I would go around the totems that had the fire lit above. Then I saw that there were stick laid out, I went through it and got the gist of it. I cleared all the tracks. I found a door that was locked, it needed a skill of the rogue to be opened or a key.
⢠The next phase of action was either the Bergritâs claws or Valammar. I pondered the outcomes and saw that there was a separate mission there and a good chance of getting high tier items.
Valammar
I somehow attained the key and set out for the place. The inside looked ghastly. There was a fight between the dwarves and the guard present there. We witnessed it and saw the guard triumph. His health was minuscule and so you know who won the fight between us and him. There were guards that were level 8s. I roamed the place and found that it was a trading post, that it had information about the movement of the Inquisition. It had more letters that were wayy too long for me too read. I found the lair where their leader was hiding and got him. The room locked behind his hiding place was where the treasure was. 2 dwarvian gears were required to open the gate behind. Itâs a good thing that the map showed itâs location. Inside was the bigger hurdle. 2 archery troops and one Guard. Itâs massive HP, and ability to nullify certain attacks made it more terrifying. As usual, my troops fell before the big man. I was stuck with Varric which was a good thing, I juked the guard outside the room and used his shadow veil. I raised my mate who fell again in a single swoop of the guard. I used shadow veil again and this time I used the health potions of the Qunari and Cassandra. Solas and Varric combo was still alive and I got the the guard.
⢠I still didnât explore the entirety of the place yet. I still have to explore whatâs beneath the place.
*Redcliffe Castle
Located at the upper most side of the Hinterlands is the castle that shut itself to the world. I asked a nearby soldier is the situation. She said that the raging wars between the Templars and Mages caused them to shut their gates and retain peace. I couldnât get through. I tried to go around it and maybe somehow climb to the mountain and get down from the other side. That didnât work, just a waste of time.
This was when I figured why not go back to Haven, take a look at the war table.
At Haven's blacksmith I crafted a shield and dagger.
On the way back I saw the discourse between a Mage and a Templar. Both accoused one another to be the reason of the divine's death. They booth were members of the Inquisition.
I chatted with Mother Giselle and Cullen before heading into the war table room. She told me more about the origin of the Inquisition and why everyone was afraid of it.
Val Royeaux
I saw my power was 33. I wanted to make do with it. I went for the left side of the map and selected this place thinking that my forces would be sent there, instead I saw that I was about to head outđ .
- Reached the place and was told that the Mages were guarding their civilians from the Inquisition squad. The Qunari and Cassandra were perplexed.
Will continue from this place onwards the next time.
Enjoy the gameplay!
