~Tulwick The Half-Dragon Wizard~
From the frozen depths of Ethermore, a young fledgling half dragon scry looked over the mountains of tombs and manuscripts piled upon his desk in satisfaction. Always having a knack for enchantments, Tulwick casually flicked through tomb after tomb, mentally noting some clever cantrips that crossed his vision, quickly jotting them down to memory. Having a gift for spellweaving at a young age, Tulwick was quickly scouted and adopted by the castle apothecary. Raised under the watchful eye of his mentor, Tulwick was given access to vast amounts of magical reading material, which he quickly consumed.
On the eve of his adulthood, on a winter's solstice, the castle grounds were attacked by wicked monstrosities, composed to many grasping, clawing legs. Gargantuan centipede like crawlers, consuming everything in their path, from carrion to warm flesh. The castle guards were falling in numbers as the city walls did little to stop the onslaught of the climbing creatures. Using quick thinking and clever aptitude, Tulwick enchanted equipment in the armory, specifically caltrops, which proved incredible effective against the many legged monsters. As the creatures passed, the caltrops were enchanted to explode with a magic ethereal energy, decimating the creatures, rending limbs from their bodies.
The mindless carrion devourers had to be smitten, with gruesome displays of battered and blown to bits carapaces along the remains of the fallen, routed down to the very last grasping claw. After the flames of battle had subsided, Tulwick was left breathing heavily, but otherwise unharmed. He quickly assisted the castle apothecaries with the wounded and dying, giving what magical aid he could.
The royal guard awarded Tulwick the title of Hero of The Castle, a high prestige rank, with the role of Ledgerscript, something Tulwick had a knack for anyways. This pleased him, as it gave him more time to pursue his magical knowledge.
Tulwick is a half-dragon, brooding by nature, but not entirely unpleasant to be around. He is average height for a half-dragon, which sharp facial features and amber eyes. He has little regard for inter-royal politics, much preferring his studies to the tedium of kingdom affairs. Tulwick has grown quite fond of The Castle, as it has provided him a comfortable place to call home, and has made many friends there.
This is a storyline I made for my newly minted NFT character in ethermore.xyz. This is not part of the ethermore.xyz cannon, as the world is still being built and established. I enjoy playing D&D and creating back stories, so when I minted this guy, I wanted to create a backstory for him I could share. Thanks for reading!
