Tal vez algunos lo desconozcan pero acá Venezuela se ha viralizado en todo el territorio. Es por ello que hoy les hablaré de la primera parte del MMORPG Runescape, sin más preámbulo, ¡comencemos!

RuneScape es un MMORPG (videojuego de rol multijugador masivo en línea) diseñado por los hermanos Andrew Gower (creador de DeviousMUD, predecesor de RuneScape, aunque nunca estrenado) y Paul Gower (co-fundador de Jagex). La primera versión de RuneScape fue lanzada en el año 2001, la segunda versión, RuneScape 2, se estrenó en el 2004 mientras que RuneScape HD se estrenó en el año 2008 manteniendo la misma modalidad sólo que con mejores gráficos.
La trama del juego tiene lugar en el mundo de Gielinor, el cual se divide por 6 reinos reconocidos hasta la fecha. Estos son: El Reino de Asgarnia, Misthalin, Miscelânea, Tirannwn, Kandarin y el Ape Atoll. Los reinos de Asgarnia y Misthalin son los únicos accesibles para jugadores gratuitos mientras que los demás son desbloqueados al comprar la membresía del juego la cual tiene una duración de 14 días.
Cada reino se divide en ciudades, pueblos y aldeas donde se hallan todo tipo de NPC (personaje no jugable) que sirven de ayuda o te asignan búsquedas que al completarlas te ofrecen recompensas que dependen del grado de dificultad. Las quest varían en tiempo de duración, algunas pueden tardar unos minutos, incluso segundos, mientras que otras pueden llevar horas, tal vez días, completarlas proporciona al jugador experiencia, puntos de búsqueda, accesibilidad a otros territorios, desbloqueo de libros de magia, minijuegos y artículos que pueden llegar a servir de ayuda. Existen un total de 21 misiones gratuitas y 126 para jugadores miembros, entre las que destacan las icónicas Song of the Elves, Monkey Madness I y II, Dragon Slayer I y II, Legends' Quest y de la cual se destacan varias sub-búsquedas, Recipe for Disaster.
A diferencia de algunos MMORPG, RuneScape no sigue una historia como tal que tiene principio y fin, el juego nunca acabaría. Las únicas que poseen historial son las búsquedas, de las cuales algunas pueden ser obligatorias para completar otras y así seguir con la línea de sucesión. La interfaz del juego es en versión 2D, aunque en el año 2018 se lanzó una versión en 3D disponible para Android e iOS. Los jugadores pueden pelear contra monstruos como también contra jugadores, subir las 15 habilidades (talar, cocinar, pescar, minar, orar, etc) para jugadores gratuitos y si se obtiene la membresía, aumentar las otras 8 habilidades para miembros (robar, cazar, construir, asesinar, etc) que daría un total de 23. Todas las habilidades se aumentan mediante puntos de experiencia hasta su nivel máximo (99). Existen búsquedas que ofrecen experiencia como también existen minijuegos que aumentan relativamente la habilidad.
