The Elder Scrolls Online and Convincing Friends to Play
Wow, 390 hours? I'd say that's my amateur hours when it comes to my experience with The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) ahahahh. I've been immersed in the world of Eso for years and although I had to take a break for the last couple of years due to work commitments, I'm now happily back after 1,5 long years... Let me tell you how I convinced my friends to play Eso and what Eso is all about.
My friends and I were looking for a game and I suggested Eso to them when I was thinking about what game we could play. At first they... said no but wanted to check it out on youtube after my 10 minute praise of the game, and as you can see, we already got a few people hahhaha even last night in whatsapp group conversations they said they had fun and another friend decided to join us! Last night we spend about 2-3 hours of play for the game together.
Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, ESO is an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) set in the vast and enchanting realm of Tamriel.
If you're a fan of The Elder Scrolls series, if you've played Skyrim before and thought to yourself, "I wish Skyrim was online so I could play with my friends", this is what this game provides. In the online iteration, you'll feel like you're in a huge house. ESO is set in the same universe as beloved single-player games like Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind, but you explore this world with other friends.
One of the most remarkable aspects of ESO is its astonishingly detailed and expansive world, it's amazing how much thought the makers have put into every location. From the towering peaks of Skyrim to the deserts of Elsweyr, every region in Tamriel is beautifully realized, and I couldn't believe it, but all the NPCs are voiced. As you know, this is very important to me, as I've mentioned in previous reviews of the game, the world is diverse and visually stunning. The attention to detail is truly astonishing, every nook and cranny is waiting to be explored and it feels like so few hours.
Dungeon Delving, Roleplay, PvP... Exciting Multiplayer Features...
In Eso you have the freedom to create a character that really reflects your play style and imagination. Of course, I created a Khajiit because it's a race I've never played before. I played elf, I played nord, my previous character was a tank. Now I wanted to create a healer, a Templar character.
The beauty of the game is that your skills are according to the equipment you use, so if you say that I'm going to play a mage, not a tank, you just need to buy a staff and then you can go and edit your skill points and then you can play whatever you want. That's really cool.
One of the most intriguing aspects of ESO is the rich story, there's a story in every nook and cranny. I wish there was Turkish language support so we could play even more, but... Unfortunately, there isn't. The game is full of interesting quests that will keep us hooked for hours, once you start the game, pick a direction and walk ahahha. There will be something in the middle. You can do the main quest and get the big picture or whatever you want. Or you can just do little tiny moment quests and you'll be fine.
There is also the dungeon business. If you want to gather with your friends and say I will enter a dungeon, come on, we will have great fun. I would even like to create a group for hive if it is allowed in Eso eu server. Let's see.
We play for roleplay and enjoyment, honestly. I'm sure we'll get into dungeons in time and we'll get items. This will not be enough for PVP, we will push ourselves in Cyrodiil map ahahhaha.
World That Never Ceases to Amaze
The world of ESO is constantly evolving with regular updates and expansions introducing new regions, missions and gameplay features. They are always adding something new. They're adding new classes. They add new maps. The lore, the story and world knowledge, is very deep. When you dive into it, you go crazy. It's like WoW. There is always a feeling of discovering something new.
Whether you find yourself wandering through laaarge landscapes, gathering plants and resources or just play the main story, you will still play for hours. Even after spending 390+ hours in the game, I am sure there is so much more to discover in the world. And so much more to do to be honest. Sometimes I'm sacared do I know eso? Do I know the world? ahahha.
As my friends and I rediscovered the wonders of ESO, I remembered why I fell in love with this game in the first place. Even though we had just started, we chose a map I had never been to before and I started exploring the environment and understanding NPCs and reading their dialogues. That's my style of play. I play for the depth of the world, the immersive storytelling and listening to what the characters have to say.
Eso feels like an Online Dungeons and Dragons
I can't tell you how much I wish Dungeons and Dragons had a game like The Elder Scrolls Online. Oh! As a longtime D&D fan, I'm always crazy happy about the immersive storytelling and endless possibilities that the tabletop game offers. The joy of what we can do is really something else.
But how great it would be if we could combine that with the expansive world and mechanics of eso. But visuals are also very important. I think this is the problem in Neverwinter game, the visuals are not very good.
I would like dnd to have a massive game like eso because I know the story myself, but I guess that will never happen. And I almost forgot that the Eso has a clan system. Maybe we could start a clan for the hive, but I might not have enough time to manage it. But we can still help friends who are just starting out or people who need to craft. My friend and I have 2 characters with 600+ level and 800+ level. Thanks to these, we can help you if you need anything. Just write here or on discord
I hope you like it, this game is really enjoyable and fun. Thank you so much for reading. See you soon!
