En este videojuego vamos a cometer toda clase de fechorías para controlar las calles de Nueva York y ascender en la organización criminal a cargo del Don y la familia Corleone.
Este es el videojuego, basado en la trama de una de las mejores películas de la historia del cine: El Padrino.
El Padrino es un videojuego de acción y aventura desarrollado y distribuido por EA para PS3, Xbox y PC, fue lanzado al mercado en 2006.
In this video game we are going to commit all kinds of misdeeds to control the streets of New York and rise in the criminal organization run by the Don and the Corleone family.
This is the video game, based on the plot of one of the best films in the history of cinema: The Godfather.
The Godfather is an action-adventure video game developed and distributed by EA for PS3, Xbox and PC, it was released in 2006.
Historia
En El padrino vamos a seguir la historia de Aldo Trapani, quien es acogido por la familia Corleone tras el asesinato de su padre a manos de los Barzini (familia rival de los Corleone).
Don Vito Corleone, apadrina al niño y le consuela diciéndole que cuando crezca podrá vengar la muerte de su padre. Luca Brasi se encarga del chico y le enseña los manejos del negocio familiar: .
- Extorsionar negocios.
- Administrar los tugurios clandestinos.
- Eliminar objetivos.
De esta manera Aldo va subiendo de rango en la organización, hasta ganarse el respeto de Tom Hagen, Sonny Corleone, Peter Clemenza, Salvatore Tessio, Al Neri y varios personajes más.
En este juego corren dos historias en paralelo: los eventos principales ocurridos en la película y la historia personal de Aldo Trapani.
El juego se desarrolla a través de intrigas y escenas de tiroteos y mucha violencia en las calles, hasta ver a Aldo convertido en el Don de Nueva York de 1955.
En el videojuego nos encontramos con los mismos personajes de la película:
Vito Corleone: el Don de la familia Corleone.
Michael Corleone: hijo menor del Don. Asesina a Sollozo.
Santino Corleone: hijo mayor del Don. Es asesinado en una emboscada.
Fredo Corleone: segundo hijo de Vito Corleone.
Tom Hagen: hijo adoptivo del Don. Es el Consigliere del Don.
Luca Brasi: sicario y fiel amigo del Don.
Salvatore Tessio: quiso traicionar a Michael.
Paulie Gatto: chofer del Don. Es ejecutado por traicion.
Virgil Sollozzo: contrabandista de drogas. Inicia la guerra contra los Corleone.
Joe Galtosino: policía corrupto.
Aldo Trapani: es el protagonista del juego.
Frances Frankie Malone: novia de Aldo. Es asesinada por Bruno Tattaglia.
Story
In The Godfather we are going to follow the story of Aldo Trapani, who is taken in by the Corleone family after the murder of his father at the hands of the Barzini (rival family of the Corleones).
Don Vito Corleone, sponsors the child and consoles him by telling him that when he grows up he will be able to avenge the death of his father. Luca Brasi takes care of the boy and teaches him how to handle the family business:.
- Extort business.
- Manage clandestine slums.
- Eliminate targets.
In this way, Aldo rises through the ranks of the organization, earning the respect of Tom Hagen, Sonny Corleone, Peter Clemenza, Salvatore Tessio, Al Neri and several other characters.
In this game, two stories run in parallel: the main events that occurred in the film and Aldo Trapani's personal story.
The game unfolds through intrigues and shooting scenes and a lot of violence in the streets, until Aldo becomes the Don of New York in 1955.
In the video game we meet the same characters from the film:

Aldo Trapani: he is the protagonist of the game.
Frances Frankie Malone: Aldo's girlfriend. She is assassinated by Bruno Tattaglia.
Gameplay
La mecánica del juego consiste en que Aldo Trapani (nuestro protagonista) debe estar a la orden de la familia Corleone e ir ascendiendo de rango dentro de esta organización criminal, por medio de trabajos (misiones) especiales de:
- Extorsión.
- Sobornos.
- Asesinatos.
Al comienzo se ofrece un breve tutorial donde Luca Brasi, le enseña a Aldo a utilizar las armas y a pelear. Luego podemos explorar libremente los alrededores de la ciudad de Nueva York.
En la ciudad hay toda clase de lugares que visitar, como:
- Carnicerías, pastelerías, pescaderías, fruterías.
- Clubes nocturnos, bares, restaurantes.
- Almacenes.
- Bancos
Estos establecimientos se deberán extorsionar para que el Don tenga el control absoluto de la ciudad.
Los pisos francos, son los lugares donde podremos guardar los avances de nuestra partida. Estos pisos francos están situados en diferentes residencias, hoteles, o casas de la ciudad; aquí encontraremos provisiones, armas, municiones, y licor para reestablecer su salud.
Al subir de rango Aldo obtendrá un mejor salario. Con ese dinero se puede comprar ropa, armas más potentes, provisiones y otros pisos francos. Este dinero puede ser utilizado para sobornar a los policías corruptos.
Para obtener más dinero, también se puede atracar bancos y emplear explosivos para abrir la caja fuerte.
En definitiva, podemos explorar los alrededores de la ciudad de Nueva York durante horas, y ejecutar toda clase de fechorías para beneplácito de la familia Corleone.
Gameplay
The mechanics of the game consist in that Aldo Trapani (our protagonist) must be at the command of the Corleone family and go up in rank within this criminal organization, through special jobs (missions) of:
- Extortion.
- Bribes.
- Murders.
At the beginning there is a short tutorial where Luca Brasi teaches Aldo to use weapons and to fight. Then we can freely explore the surroundings of New York City.
In the city there are all kinds of places to visit, such as:
- Butchers, patisseries, fishmongers, greengrocers.
- Nightclubs, bars, restaurants.
- Warehouses.
- Banks
These establishments must be extorted for the Don to have absolute control of the city.
The safe houses are the places where we can save the progress of our game. These safe houses are located in different residences, hotels, or houses in the city; here we will find supplies, weapons, ammunition, and liquor to restore your health.
Moving up the rank Aldo will earn a better salary. With that money you can buy clothes, more powerful weapons, supplies and other safe houses. This money can be used to bribe corrupt police officers.
To get more money, you can also rob banks and use explosives than to open the safe.
Ultimately, we can explore the outskirts of New York City for hours, and execute all kinds of misdeeds for the good pleasure of the Corleone family.
Conclusión
Las calles de Nueva York presentan gráficos muy realistas, aunque se criticó mucho la repetición del prototipo de habitantes y automóviles.
Así mismo, para este videojuego muchos de los actores de la película dieron voz a sus personajes:

The streets of New York present very realistic graphics, although the repetition of the prototype of inhabitants and cars was much criticized.
