When it comes to ass-kicking, nobody does it better than The Gloridax. Them Dragon folks don't fuck around, and extra points that they're comfortable working in conjunction with other Splinters.
There's a certain kick that comes from combining them with other Splinters, and today we're going to be talking about this sad/sappy looking foot soldier that wears fancy armour and is master of all kinds of badassery that other Splinters only dream of having.

On the surface of it, this Dragon soldier seems like it would rather be home playing video games or some shit, but as I said, it is a hardcore badass that flies into battle and uses its hard body to protect its teammates.
The Battle
The Gloridax are generally exceptional in whatever they do and to be completely honest, they just look so damn cool. In this battle, I employed Daria's twin brother called Delwyn, who also turns out to be my favourite summoner of all time and is probably the saddest looking character in the entire Splintral land. I mean, just look at him;
My Gloridax soldier was out in front because it has that Shield ability that reduces damage taken from melee and ranged attacks, plus it flies, so hopefully, it can evade a few hits as well.
Behind the soldier, I squeezed in a Diamond Dragon, Fire Lizard Magic dude, the Imp, Ettin Spearman and most importantly Dragon Jumper who had the most important task of mopping up fragile points of the opponent's line up.
My front three that comprised of the Gloridax Soldier, Diamond Dragon and Naga Wizard withstood the initial onslaught pretty well because two had the shield ability and my diamond dragon had an actual shield, plus the opponent used mostly Ranged attacks presumably to get the best out of Yodin Zaku's buffs.
The Battle seemed even for large parts and for a while, I actually thought I was going to win as the battle proceeded. Despite going up against a formidable opponent, I put up a really good fight and would have won the battle if Ettin SPearman's attack wasn't too slow in the 4th round.
At the end of the day, it was a fun battle with many subtle events that had bigger consequences on the match. Like how my opponent strategically employed that Giant in front to attract all my hits in the first round. Without that act, I probably would have taken out most of the cards because the snipe ability was activated for everyone.
The Lessons
- Avoid going up against opponents that use Yodin Zaku. That asshole is basically a cheat that gives all friendlies the blast ability.
- If Yodin Zaku is potentially involved in a battle where Snipe ability is activated for all monsters, you can either use more melee monsters to reduce the blast range or employ as many monsters with magic and contact resistance.
- Losing Speed sucks and it was one of the deciding factors in this game, so always try to ensure you're on the right side of the speed spectrum.
It was a fun battle that had its moments. There were a lot of twists along the way that influenced the battle. Had certain things gone through, things would have surely been different and on a different day, I might have even won the battle. Alas, it wasn't my day and I ended up losing because of a missed hit.
