Distant Worlds 2
Nomad Survival
Okay... I say this every few months, but it is definitely time to do a burst of Humble Bundle posts so that I can keep up with the monthly drops! And drop a comment with an offer in HBD/HIVE if you are interested in picking up a Steam key for any of the games that I don't claim myself!
So... straight to the bundle for April 2025.
And the lead game for the drop is Tomb Raider 1-3: Remastered... well, that is sort of underwhelming. I know that lots of people have fond memories of the triangular assets of the original Tomb Raider... but I have learnt that it is best to leave old games as fond memories and not to try and revisit them. They are from a different era, and I often find that revisiting them leads to memories being shattered upon contact with decades old gameplay and UI... not a good thing. If you want Tomb Raider, then you DEFINITELY should play the new ones... they are AWESOME! But if you are a retro gamer, or just want something that will run on a lighter machine... I guess these could be interesting. Skip for me though, but if it is interesting for you, just drop a comment and we can come to some sort of an agreement!
Dredge was actually an interesting one for me... a sort of top-down fishing game set in a light horror setting... well, I've had this on my wishlist for ages as a good match for my Steam Deck. And I was so happy to see it appear on the Humble Bundle drop for this month! So, an immediate claim for me, and also an immediate install on the Deck!
I've always been intrigued by the Aliens universe... but always have been too chicken to watch or play the games! I'm pretty prone to jump scares... but I do like reading all the wikis and other written stuff! Anyway, Aliens Dark Descent is a top down tactics game that seems like it would be a good entry point for me... playing as the commander of a squad of Colonial Marines, and in my preferred tactical style... this is a claim game for me, I'm pretty curious about this as my first entry into the Aliens gaming universe!
1000X Resist... a really interesting narrative game/walk-em-up... The story setting is pretty weird, but compelling... and the art style is quite unique as well. But, I had already purchased this on a Steam sale and it is currently on my Steam Deck rotation of games... so, this game is available for someone else... just comment and we can come to some agreed amount!
Nova Lands... a factory/exploration/management game... top down, cute retro like graphics. I sort of would be interested in this sort of game, but I have lots of similar games in my library already like RimWorld.. and so, I think I will just give it a miss... not because I think it might not be good, but because I have so many other options in my queue of shame! Let me know if you are interested!
Diplomacy is Not an Option is a a game that has been on my wishlist as well... a strategic roguelike sort of thing? Teehee... sounds fun! So, I'm afraid I'm claiming this one!
Distant Worlds is a huge 4X universe simulator... but with a twist in that you have a great deal of leeway with how much you want to micromanage your empire. You can go hands off and let your empire do its thing whilst issuing only high level policy... or micromanage every little trade ship (probably don't want to this!) Crazily deep and complex, it even models civilian space traffic... exactly my sort of game! But of course, I bought this as soon as it came out! So, this key is up for grabs for anyone who makes an offer.
Finally, Nomad Survival... well, a Vampire Survivors type game... I sort of had a bit of fun with Vampire Survivors, but I don't really think that the genre really has much more to offer than that sugar hit... so, I'm leaving this key in the pot for people to make an offer on.
