Back in the day, when I was younger, I loved to play Football Manager but due to the fact that the game evolved in some ways to more complex things and I started working and building a family I stopped playing (the last FM I played was the Football Manager 2012).
These days, when I saw that FM 2023 was coming out, it made me want to play again, but as I didn't want to pay €50 for a game, I decided to buy and play FM 2022 (which cost €15).
Let's get to the point.
I created my coach profile and I will coach AS Roma.
What led me to choose AS Roma is the fact that it is a historic club in world football, but unfortunately it never had many achievements, so I defined that my objective would be to change that and want to make AS Roma a club that wins championships and plays Champions League.
In the first pre-season, I don't worry about signing new players for the club. My focus was to improve my technical team so that all specific suits have at least 3.5/4 stars.
Fortunately, despite the club's small budget, I managed to achieve my goal for the coaching staff.
My squad is as follows:
In addition to these players, I also have Chris Smalling, Leonardo Spinazzola and Sérgio Oliveira, but all three are currently injured.
One of the things I've already noticed is that the team only has 4 centre-backs and as I play with a 3-back tactic maybe I'll have to get another centre-back from the formation teams.
I've played 6 friendlies having won 4 and lost 2, one of these defeats was against Sevilla and the goals I conceded were near the end of the game because I was forced to replace my midfielders with midfielders and the team got weaker in that defensive sector.
Now I have one more friendly against Inter before the Europa Conference League qualifying 1st leg game against Union Berlin.
Let's see if I can bring AS Roma to glory.
