I've been receiving this notification popping up on my phone. I couldn't help but wonder, who could've missed me that much? π€£ But then, I saw the name, it was none other than BitLife!
Funny thing is, my partner had mentioned this game to me before. I tried it out but didn't play for very long. Maybe because it's all words and no fancy graphics. I'm more of a visual person.
Then, out of the blue, we brought up the topic again and I thought to myself, why not give it another try?
I found myself hitting that install button once again, and after a few taps, I was hooked!
When I started playing BitLife, this is what my life looked like. I was happy, healthy, and clever... but sadly, I'm rather unattractive π
My initial reaction? I burst out laughing and got curious. Would my looks hinder the way I want to live my life?
Well, turns out it did! My character in BitLife was in a difficult situation, struggling to make friends because of her looks βΉοΈ It's amusing how BitLife mirrors life in these aspects.
And it got me thinking, wouldn't it be interesting if we had our own stats like this in real life?
Bitlife, if you haven't heard of it yet, is a life simulation game where you begin as a random character and progress through different stages of life, encountering various challenges.
What makes it exciting is the ability to make life-changing decisions, just like in real life.
Start a new life! π±
Here in BitLife, you have the freedom to choose your name, gender, country, and place. That's where gets life interesting because the choices you make heavily influenced your life. That's the reason why I'm lovin' this game.
Baby steps πΆπΌ
In BitLife, you get to read your own conception story, which I think is pretty hilarious and realistic at the same time!
I've been Lola Sanchez, from Spain, and conceived in the bathroom of a club. Classy, eh? π€£ Then there's Chloe Clarendon, from Australia, the planned one. The absolute winner? Nanami Ohtani, conceived on a washing machine while the machine was on the spin cycle π
It makes me wonder, how would our own stories play out if we knew these details in real life? That would be my conversation starter! So tell me how you were brought into this world π€£
Education π§πΌβπ
Just like in real life, the character in Bitlife also goes to school, gain friends, and study (well, that's up to you!).
When it's time for university, you got to choose the major and how you'd pay for it. Thankfully, the lives I've lived had the parental backup for tuition. No student loans for me π
Health π₯
Characters can also catch all sorts of diseases, just like us. My character once had high blood pressure at the age of 8! Imagine that!
You can either go to the doctor for help or try alternative medicine. You can even consult witches to get better. Life in BitLife is fun that way!
Relationships π
The freedom to live life on your own terms, be it marriage, same-sex or not, or simply dating, it's up to you!
You even get to check out your potential dates' happiness levels, health, looks, and brains. Guess what? They're also up-to-date because you can find dates through dating apps!
And let's talk about weddings! I picked Cebu for mine once.
If you feel like when all else fails, you can apparently pray to the devs! My character did that when life got rough π
Death πͺ¦
I really enjoyed the way the epitaphs were written.
You'll see your net worth, where you lived, your career, education, kids, and lovers. Oh, and how people remembered you, that's another funny thing! Mine was once described as 'a questionable decision maker' π
There's also a bar for your overall happiness and your karma. To increase your karma's bar, make good choices. It's like the universe is taking notes on your life decisions.
Living different lives is my kind of fun! I enjoy experiencing life from various perspectives. BitLife lets me do that, and I must say I could play it all day!
Currently, I'm Julien Blanc from Haiti. I wonder what sort of adventure this life holds. I'll find out and let you know next time π
