It's essential to skip this game 👎

September 2023's PlayStation Plus Essential lineup was possibly the worst I have ever witnessed. This was coming shortly after PS Plus subscription prices saw a dramatic increase. If the price goes up, shouldn't quality as well? Sadly, that's just not the case.

Instead, one of the three free titles for Essential is an aged MMO that was originally released back in 2014. That's right, PlayStation gave us Black Desert Online nearly 10 years after it first came out. Pretty insane if you ask me.

I knew this game wasn't going to be any fun, but I of course made sure to try it since it landed in my library recently. It was a complete waste of time. I spent just over 10 minutes with this game. The cutscenes were terrible and impossible to skip. Then once I finally made it to the gameplay portion, I noticed right away that this game has supreme levels of jank. I can't imagine that there was one PS Plus Essential subscriber who was excited about getting this game. What a shame.
