So much free content!
I've been playing the daylights out of Call of Duty Vanguard since it came out about a month ago now. So far we have been in the preseason aka Season 0. At last, we are finally entering Season 1, and with that comes an abundance of new things to experience.
In this post, I will be focusing on the things that are most exciting to me, but I will of course leave a link to Call of Duty's official blog so that you can see every single that that was added.
The thing that excites me most about all of this is the two new maps coming to multiplayer. Paradise and Radar are both dropping and they each have their own Pacific/tropical vibe. This whole update has me hyped because I am obsessed with the tropics and the Pacific Theater is my favorite part of WW2.
Paradise is a brand new map, but Radar is a reimagination of an older map. Radar is a remake of the map Dome from Modern Warfare 3. Don't get confused with the other Dome map from World at War that was also remade for Vanguard. These are two separate Dome maps, confusing I know. I love when they bring back classic maps for us to experience with all of the updated graphics and gameplay elements.
Next on the list of things that excite me is a new game mode called Control. This is basically Hardpoint and Search & Destroy combined into one mode. It has appeared in previous COD titles, but this will be the first time it appears in Vanguard.
There will also be 5 new weapons. The Cooper Carbine, Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle, Welgun, Sawtooth, and a gorgeous-looking Katana. All weapons will be available for free. You can either earn them through in-game challenges, unlock them through the battle pass, or pay to get them right away.
There are a few new operators joining the ranks. Francis, Lewis, and Isabella. They won't all be coming out at once, but you can expect to see their faces showing up over the course of Season 1.
Don't expect these operators to change the gameplay any besides simple things like animations and unique quips. One of the main things that new operators will offer outside of how they look, is double XP bonuses when ranking up their character-specific favorite weapons.
The Festive Fervor seasonal event will offer some holiday-themed cosmetics, just in time for Christmas. I am not big on paying for vanity items, but I know many will be all over this. Maybe once these types of things become NFTs, I will be more likely to shell out some crypto for them. I just see no point in paying for items that don't hold any value.
I haven't played Warzone for well over a year now, I got tired of dropping into Verdansk over and over. Now that the new map Caldera is finally upon us, I'm curious to try it out. This Pacific-themed location looks absolutely gorgeous. Warzone is free to play, so even if you don't have Vanguard you can still try it out and even rank up your weapons. If you do own Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare, you can use your weapons from those games in Warzone. It is pretty crazy how they have managed to combine all of the games into one huge open world with Warzone. This means you can take a WW2 weapon with maxed-out attachments and put it up against modern weapons.
As you can see, there is an overwhelmingly large amount of content that has come with Season 1. I didn't even talk about Zombies, which also has a lot of new things to check out. Remember that you can visit the official COD blog to learn about every single thing that has arrived in Season 1.
I will be bringing some more Vanguard gameplay video content and probably even some Warzone on Caldera over the next few weeks. I have still yet to even find the time to begin the campaign in Vanguard. This game is jam-packed with things to do. If you are interested in seeing more of this game, be sure to give me a follow and come back for more soon.
