I never stood a chance 🪦
This was my first match where the tutorials left the screen and I was let off of my Yu-Gi-Oh! leash. I must say that it was pretty refreshing to draw my first cards and summon a monster. I hadn't done that in so many years and I instantly remembered how fun it always used to be to me. I played against myself with my card collection 99% of the time. No I have the AI to play against in Legacy of the Duelist and they do not go easy on me.
I really thought I was going to have some success against Seto Kaiba. Little did I know, his deck had at least two Blue Eyes White Dragons. I simply did not have anything powerful enough to take these monsters out. There were no magic or trap cards in my pre-made deck to assist with dispatching these winged assailants.
My deck did at least have all 5 pieces of Exodia. That was the most difficult thing to get when opening card packs in my younger years. I never did obtain the body, arms, and legs during my collection phase of childhood. If you get all the pieces of Exodia in your hand at once, then you automatically win the duel. My deck had plenty of magic cards that helped me draw multiple cards per hand. Sadly I did not realize that until I had already been forced to play Exodia the Forbidden One (the body card) in order to protect my LP (Life Points).
I may have gotten smacked twice by this same AI opponent, but I had a damn good time still. It is so much fun reminiscing and playing with old cards that I once had a giant collection of. It is too bad that I was encouraged to get rid of all of those valuable cards when I became a teenager in order to grow up.
