My first moments of freedom in Gran Turismo 7

The main menu of Gran Turismo 7 starts with an option between casual driving in Music Rally and the World Map, where everything else takes place. Upon entering the World Map for the first time, we are greeted with an epic intro video that showcases the history of cars. If you are not aware, the release of Gran Turismo 7 marks the 25th anniversary of the Gran Turismo franchise. This game puts a big emphasis on not only giving you a realistic driving experience but also teaching you facts about popular manufacturers over many years of automobile history. Even if you arent a car lover like I am, you cannot help but appreciate the attention to detail present here.

After the intro video, I was awarded three preorder bonus cars. The Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept Stealth Model, Toyota Supra GT500 '97, and Porsche 917 Living Legend. I couldn't wait to finally get to driving these sexy rides, but I was quickly greeted by one of the voiceless (but not faceless) NPCs as they explained how the very aesthetically pleasing world map works.

I went with a used Toyota Aqua S '11 as my first car, you have to start somewhere I guess. I knew it wouldn't be long before I had something better. I then ventured over to the Gran Turismo Cafe and received my first menu book. This is basically the game's missions and the concept seems to work extremely well.

Time for my first race. I couldn't resist and took my Porsche 917 out for a spin on the oval track Northern Isle Speedway. I then did the exact same race with my Toyota Aqua and the difference between the two was staggering. Each car in this game feels totally different and that will be expanded upon even more once you start buying new parts and tuning the rides to your exact specifications.
