Ja Morant leads the way with 44 points 🏀🎮🐻
I haven't been able to get into an NBA 2K for nearly 10 years. I just lost my interest in most sports games in general. I watched nearly every single Memphis Grizzlies game last season and they are hands down my favorite team in the entire NBA. I figured since my brother purchased 2K24 and we game share on PS5, I might as well give the game a try. I'm so glad that I actually gave this game a chance.
Despite not having played much 2K for many years, I have a lot of experience with it dating back to 2K5 when NBA Live was beginning to lose its dominance in the gaming market. Fast forward now and the only simulation NBA game available is NBA 2K24. There are some things about this game that I hate, you won't catch me playing MyPlayer or MyTeam with all of those nasty microtransactions, it's clearly pay to win. Luckily, the regular games are still a blast and that's really all I care about anyway.
For my first match, I jumped into an online game with some random person. It was my Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angles Lakers. A rematch of the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs where the Grizzlies fell to the Lakers. I knew that this time it had to be different.
I started off pretty badly and this guy had a huge lead going into halftime. I couldn't figure out how to defend and he just kept attacking me in the paint. I was doing a decent job of scoring too, but it just wasn't enough when I had zero defense.
Things began to change in the second half, I was finally getting a hang of this game. By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, things were very tight. I was starting to go off and Ja Morant was the guy allowing this to happen. He just could not be stopped, his speed and dunking ability are top-tier. This is why he is my favorite player, he's just so damn fun to watch and also use in 2K.
I had a chance to sink a game-winning shot at the end of the 4th but missed it and that led us to overtime. During OT I finally figured out how to stop this dude driving into the paint for a free dunk all of the time. I just stayed waiting in the lane with my dude Steven Adams instead of trying to guard LeBron one-on-one with Desmond Bane. This worked perfectly as I took the lead right away and held on to win this game.
I seriously had so much fun playing this and look forward to many more games like it. I will continue to stick with my Grizzlies as I feel they have arguably the best roster in the entire league and I know all of their players so well.
I hope you enjoy this game. I recorded form start to finish so you won't miss a thing if you're curious to see my comeback victory in overtime.
Thanks for watching and be sure to drop any comments you may have down below, I will get back to everyone.
