Back to the beaches
Today we will be dropping in on some more Battlefield V online multiplayer. This time we are headed to the absolutely stunning location of Greece. The water here is the most beautiful I've seen on a Battlefield map before. There are several different chokepoints on this map. You can guarantee that I head straight into the action every time. I am not one of those people that can just sit around and camp.
The name of this map sounds more likely to be a Destiny location rather than Battlefield. The thing is there is more to the name Mercury than just the fireball planet that you have heard of.
More about Mercury...
Set during Operation Mercury, the Battle of Crete was fought between May 20th and June 1st, 1941. The map depicts the German airborne assault on the Greek island, which had been garrisoned by the British since the Italian invasion of mainland Greece in October 1940. Dropped en-masse, Fallschirmjäger forces managed to capture Maleme Airfield within the first two days, allowing them to airlift in reinforcements to overwhelm the Allied defensive positions, who subsequently withdrew south, precipitating an evacuation of the island by sea. Despite their victory, the heavy cost of the operation in both men and materiel forbade Germany from the use of large-scale airborne landings for the remainder of the war. Source
