Living the trippy life
After finding my lost horse Kaze on Iki Island, I continued up the mountain towards Fort Sakai. Jin's father once held control of this fort. Since his death, it has been taken over by the Mongols. Specifically, a group led by one called The Eagle. She is the main antagonist on Iki Island and she is very familiar with hallucinogenic brews. She seems to wish for Jin to learn a lesson from all of his family's past mistakes.
I assumed I would be clearing out this fort just like all of the other's but after I got through the initial guards, I was sabotaged by large amounts of flashbang-type equipment. I woke being held hostage by The Eagle. She forced me to drink some blend of psychedelic drugs that she has been feeding everyone on the island. Most people lose their minds after this and go crazy forever. Jin is quite a bit stronger than most, so he is able to maintain. This does however mean that visions will be a constant annoyance while on Iki Island. This includes flashbacks to things that happened to Jin as a kid.
The cutscenes are brutal, gorgeous, and engaging. I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of The Eagle as the story on Iki Island unfolds more. You already know that you can come back to my page for more Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut on PS5.
