Hi there. In this giant post I cover the all cards reveal from the Celestial Guardians set from Pokemon TCG Pocket mobile game. This new set is released today on April 30, 2025.
There are so many cards out here so I feature the ones that I think are good in game as well as the shiny cards and art cards.
This post is big. Read what you want.
Alolan Exeggutor
Alolan Exeggutor is the evolution from Exeggcute. The Tropical Hammer attack is a gamble. For 1 Grass and two Colourless you can deal a massive 150 damage only if you flip heads.
Rowlet, Dartrix & Decidueye ex
In a previous post I covered the two Rowlets. We now have Dartrix and Decidueye ex.
The Dartrix is not too bad for a Stage 1 Pokemon before Stage 2. For one Grass energy you deal 30 damage.
Decidueye ex is a bulky 170 HP Stage 2 Grass Pokemon with Fire Weakness and one retreat cost. The second attack of Razor Leaf is a generic attack that does 80 damage for 2 Grass Energy.
The Pierce The Pain attack is interesting. For two colourless Energy you deal 100 damage to any 1 of your opponent's Pokemon that has damage on it. A damaged opponent's Benched Pokemon is not safe from Decidueye ex.
Formantis & Lurantis
Formantis is okay as a Basic Pokemon. One grass Energy to deal 20 damage for a Basic is good in the early game.
Lurantis has a good damage spread attack in the form of Petal Blizzard. For one Grass Energy you deal 20 damage to each of your opponent's Pokemon. Maybe this combos well with Decidueye ex???
Bounsweet, Steenee & Tsareena
The Tsareena evolution seems okay. One Grass Energy attacks in the evolution line. Tsareena's Three Kick Combo requires one Grass Energy to deal 50 damage for each Heads flipped from 3 flips.
Dhelmise ex, Tapu Bulu
Dhelmise is a Grass Basic Pokemon ex. For 2 Grass + 1 Colourless Energy Dhelmise ex deals 80 damage plus the Defending Pokemon on the opponent's side cannot retreat.
Tapu Bulu is a bulky Grass Basic Pokemon with 120 HP and 2 retreat cost. The Stuck-In Tackle requires 2 Grass Energy + 1 Colourless Energy
to deal 100 damage plus 20 damage to itself if you flip Tails.
I am not sure if these two will see much play. Celebi ex + Serperior is too good to ignore.
Litten, Torracat, Incineroar ex
Here is the Incineroar ex evolution line. Litten and Torracats are okay attackers as you move up to Incineroar ex.
Incineroar ex is a bulky Stage 2 Fire Pokemon with 180 HP and 2 retreat cost. For one Fire Energy the Fire Fang attack deals 30 damage plus makes your opponent's Active Pokemon burned.
The Scar-Charged Smash attack requires 2 Fire Energy and one Colourless Energy to deal 80 base damage. If Incineroar ex is damaged then this attack does 140 damage instead.
I think Incineroar ex will see some play. It is a good beatstick attacker. The only issue is getting 3 Energy on it.
Alolan Sandshrew & Alolan Sandslash
Alolan Sandshrew is an okay Basic Pokemon attacker. The Alolan Sandslash is kind of interesting. For one Water energy the Spike Amror attack deals 20 damage with an added effect. During your opponent's next turn if Alolan Sandslash is attacked by damage then you deal 40 damage back to the Attacking Pokemon.
Popplio, Brionne & Primarina
The Primarina evolution line does not have a Pokemon ex like the Incineroar ex line or the Decidueye ex line.
Popplio and Brionne are okay. Primarina as an attacker is not too crazy but its ability is good. The Melodius Healing ability allows you once during your turn heal 30 damage from each of your Water Pokemon. The downside with healing is that one hit knockout attacks agaisnt you
Crabominable ex
Crabdominable ex seems kind of bad. For one Water Energy you deal 40 damage. During your next turn the Insatiable Strikign attack does 80 damage. It is a bulky Stage 1 beatstick attacker with a low energy attack. It does lack firepower.
Wishiwashi & Wishiwashi ex
Here is Wishiwashi and its Pokemon ex version. The non-ex Wishiwashi is very vulnerablea at 30 HP.
Wishiwashi ex is a bulky Basic Pokemon ex at 170 HP, 3 retreat cost and Lightning weakness. The School Storm attack requires 3 Water Energy to deal 30 base damage. School Storm does 40 more damage for each of your Benched Wishiwashi and Wishiwashi ex. The maximum damage this can do is 150 from 30 plus 120. I think it is more common to have 1 or 2 Wishiwashi on your bench. You would likely deal 70 or 110 damage.
I think a Wishiwashi is not good as it is difficult to get energy setup for the School Storm attack as well as getting Wishiwashi in play.
Alolan Golem Evolution Line
This Alolan Golem evolution line is not good. It takes too much energy for its attacks.
Charjabug + Vikavolt
Charjabug is okay at one Lightning energy to deal 30 damage.
The Vikavolt Disconnect attack is interesting. For 2 Lightning Energy it does 70 damage plus it Item Locks your opponent. During your opponent's next turn, the opponent cannot play any Item cards from their hand.
Those who play the regular Pokemon TCG are very well aware of Item Lock effects from Budew.
Togedemaru, Tapu Koko
Togedemaru as a Basic attacker is okay. For one Lightning Energy it does 20 damage plus 30 more damage if you flip heads.
Tapu Koko's energy cost for its attack is kind of high. The Volt Switch attack is a hit and run attack. You deal 70 damage and switch Tapu Koko with one of your Benched Lightning Pokemon.
Shuppet & Banette
Banette in the physical Pokemon TCG usually has some interesting attacks that can be super annoying. This Banette is not much different.
For one Psychic Energy the Night Bind attack does 30 damage. In addition, the opponent cannot take Energy from their Energy Zone in order to attach to their Active Pokemon. In theory the opponent's Active Pokemon can be trapped in the Active as they cannot attach Energy to it for retreating or for attacking.
Comfey, Tapu Lele
Comfey could see some play if there is a lot of Poison, Paralysis, Burn, Confusion effects going on. The Flower Shield ability applies to Pokemon with Psychic Energy. It removes Special Conditions and protects them from Special Conditions.
Tapu Lele is a very good Basic Pokemon attacker. For one Psychic energy the Energy Arrow deals 20 damage to any 1 of your opponent's Pokemon for each Energy attached to that Pokemon. Tapu Lele can attack Benched Pokemon and bypass opponent's Active Pokemon that serve as walls.
Conkeldurr Evolution Line
This evolution line is not great. The attacks are not too powerful even if Conkeldurr has a good defensive ability in Guts.
Rockruff + Lycanrocs
Here is Rockruff and the 2 Lycanroc versions. I think the Signs of Evolution Rockruff is better. An evolution attack is good in Pokemon TCG Pocket as drawing cards is not that common.
The Crunch Lycanroc seems bad as the energy cost at 3 is high. I think the Blood Fang Lycanroc is better. Two Fighting Energy for 50 base damage is okay. You deal 50 more damage if the opponent's Active Pokemon has more remaining HP than this Lycanroc.
Passimian ex, Minior
Passimian ex seems like a weak Basic Pokemon ex. The Seismic Toss attack for one Fighting Energy and one Colourless Energy deals 60 damage. The ability of Offload Pass activates when Passimian ex in the Active Spot is Knocked Out by damage from an attack. Then you can move all Fighting Energy from the knocked out Active Spot Passimian ex to 1 of your Benched Pokemon.
Minior seems okay as a Basic Pokemon attacker. For 2 Fighting energy deal 40 damage to any 1 of your opponent's Pokemon (Active or Benched).
Alolan Grimer & Alolan Muk
Alolan Muk ex is a bulky Stage 1 Dark Pokemon at 160 HP, 3 retreat cost.
The Chemical Panic attack is costly at 2 Dark Energy and 1 Colourless Energy. It does 80 damage plus it deals a random Special Condition from Asleep, Burned, Confused or Poisoned to the opponent's Active Pokemon.
Escavalier + Magerana
Escavalier seems okay with its Pike damage spread attack. For 1 Metal Energy you deal 30 damage to the opponent's Active Pokemon and 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon.
Magearna is a 90 HP Basic Metal Pokemon. For 2 Metal Energy the Silver Cannon attack has 40 base damage. If the opponent's Active Pokemon has an ability then this attack does 80 damage.
Drampa
Drampa is an intresting Basic Dragon attacker. It can be used in any deck as the Berserk attack requires 2 Colourless Energy. Berserk deals 20 base damage and does 50 more damage if any of your Benched Pokemon have damage on them.
Kommo-o Evolution Line
Kommo-o is a powerful beatstick attacker. The Clanging Scales attack requires 1 Lightning + 1 Fighting energy to deal 130 damage. This attack's drawback is that Kommo-o takes 30 more damage from opponent's attacks the next turn.
One hundred thirty damage is not one hit knockout power against many Pokemon ex unfortunately. I cannot rate this evolution line highly.
Oranguru + Komala
Oranguru is one of those annoying control style attackers. Primate's Trap requires 2 Colourless Energy to deal 40 damage. The added effect is during your opponent's next turn. The opponent's Defending Pokemon has an attack cost of 1 Colourless Energy more and a retreat cost of 1 Colourless Energy more. It is possible for Oranguru to trap an opponent's Pokemon and deal 40 more damage each turn until knockout.
Komala is kind of a bulky 90 HP Colourless attacker. The Comatose ability is a negative ability if it is the Active Spot. If you attach an Energy to it and its in the Active Spot then Komala is Asleep. Work around by attaching Energy to it on the Bench.
Rolling Tackle for 2 Colourless Energy to deal 70 damage is pretty good for a Basic Pokemon.
Big Malasada, Fishing Net, Poison Barb, Leaf Cape
Big Malasada (almost spelled like Masala) is a healing Item card that heals 10 damage and removes a Special Condition from that Pokemon. (Special Conditions include Burn, Poison, Asleep, Confused)
Fishing Net is a Pokemon recovery card exclusive for Water Pokemon. Retrieve a Basic Water Pokemon from the discard pile into your hand. This is made specifically for Wishiwashi decks but you can use this in Water decks.
Poison Barb is a counterattack tool card. If an opponent attacks your Active Pokemon holding Poison Barb then the Attacking opponent's Pokemon is now Poisoned. Poison adds 10 damage in between turns and its also a condition for certain attacks like Venoshock that does more damage if the target is Poisoned.
Leaf Cape provides a good boost to Grass Pokemon decks. Attach a Leaf Cape to a Grass Pokemon and it gets 30 more HP.
Sophocles, Guzma
In a previous post I thought Sophocles would boost damage for Alolan Raichu ex + Vikavolt + Togedemaru. It is actually for Alolan Golem instead of Alolan Raichu ex. Boo!!
I can see Sophocles being okay with Togedemaru and maybe Vikavolt.
Guzma is a powerful counter against decks that use many Tool cards. Discard all Tool cards attached to each of your opponent's Pokemon.

Shiny Cards
This set's shiny cards is based on Pokemon from previous sets like the Genetic Apex set. The only gold cards are Lunala ex and Solgaleo ex which are from this Celestial Guardians set.

Closing Notes
This set in Pokemon TCG Pocket is pretty big. I did not cover here but Rare Candy gives life to a lot of Stage 2 decks.
There are a lot of decks out there that can do well. Overall I think Grass decks get a good boost thanks to Leaf Cape. Arceus based decks benefit a lot thanks to Ilima.
If these cards were printed physically, people would go crazy for them. You could make a case that these art cards are nicer than the Team Rocket cards from the upcoming Destined Rivals set.
My favourite art card in this set is the Alolan Raichu ex. Very colourful.
Thank you for reading.
