Hi there. In this post I cover the Krookodile and Cofagrigus evolutions cards from Pokemon Japan's Black Bolt & White Flare sets.
Sandile + Krokorok
Sandile is a 70 HP Basic Dark Pokemon. It has 2 retreat cost and Grass weakness. Its only attack of Tighten Up requires 1 Dark Energy to deal 10 damage and having your opponent discard 1 card from their hand.
Krokorok is the Stage 1 evolution of Sandile. It has 100 HP, 2 retreat cost and Grass weakness. It also has the Tighten Up attack. This requires one Dark Energy and 1 Colourless Energy. It does 40 damage and forces your opponent discard 2 cards from their hand.
Krookodile
Krookodile is the final evolution of Sandile. This has 170 HP, 3 retreat cost and Grass weakness.
The Tighten Up attack is the same of the Krokorok in terms of attack cost. It does 60 damage and your opponent discards 2 cards from their hand.
Cursed Slug is the second attack. It requires 2 Dark Energy and 1 Colourless Energy to deal 120 base damage. If the opponent has 3 or fewer cards in their hand then this attack does 120 more damage (240 in total). This attack is hard to pull off. You need to get this Stage 2 Krookodile into play and then somehow meet the energy requirements on it. Reversal Energy can help but it is still difficult.
Yamask
Yamask is a Basic Psychic Pokemon with 70 HP, 2 retreat cost and Dark weakness.
The Focused Wish attack for 1 Psychic Energy deals 20 damage plus 20 more if you flip Heads. This is an okay attack in the early game.
Cofagrigus
Here is Cofagrigus, the evolved form of Yamask. The art on this card is pretty good even though it is not an illustration rare.
The Perplex second attack for 1 Psychic Energy and 2 Colourless Energy does 60 damage and causes confusion. This attack does cost a lot but confusion is really annoying.
The first attack is called Elongating Damagriiigus. What does that mean?? The card text for this unusual attack lets you move all damage counters from 1 of your Benched Pokemon to 1 of your opponent's Pokemon. It is a damage transfer attack. Attacks like this usually transfer damage counter to your opponent's Active Pokemon. This one gives you the option of any opponent's Pokemon as a target.
Cofagrigus has an interesting first attack but I wonder how you can use this in a deck. In a Gardevoir ex deck maybe?
Thank you for reading.
