Hi everyone. In this Pokemon TCG Post I cover more card reveals from the Unova themed Black Bolt and White Flare sets from Japan.
Card Reprints - Professor's Research, Energy Retrieval + Air Balloon
It has been revealed that Energy Retrieval and Professor's Research get reprints. Older & current versions of Energy Retrieval and Professor's Research can be used for a few more years.
The new reprint of Professor's Research features Professor Juniper from the Unova region.
Air Balloon from the Sword & Shield era makes a return. The retreat cost that the Pokemon this card is attached to has 2 less Colourless energy in its retreat cost.
Having Air Balloon will make it easier to retreat Pokemon with 2 retreat cost. It is a good counter to stall strategies that like to trap Pokemon that can't attack that have 2 Retreat cost. Watch out for Jamming Tower though.
Tynamo + Eelektrik
Tynamo is a weak 40 HP Basic Lightning Pokemon with Fighting weakness and a zero retreat cost. It is not very dangerous but it is needed for Eelektrik & Eelektross.

There is a vocal group of players that love Miraidon ex. They missed Flaaffy from a few years back. A replacement is now here in the form of Eelektrik.
Eelektrik is the Stage 1 evolution of Tynamo. It has 90 HP, two retreat cost and Fighting weakness. The Dynamotor ability is a very powerful Lightning energy acceleration ability. Once during your turn you may attach a Lightning Energy card from your discard pile to 1 of your Benched Pokemon.
With the Dynamotor ability you are not limited to Lightning Pokemon when you attach Lightning Energy from the discard pile. You can power up Mew ex if you want to. Eelektrik is not a holographic card but its impact of the game will be noticeable. 90% sure.
Eelektross
Eelektross is the final stage 2 evolution of Tynamo. It has 160 HP, 3 retreat cost and Fighting weakness.
The Thunder Fang attack requires 1 Lightning Energy to deal 60 damage plus a coin flip chance of paralysis.
The Buzz Flip attack is very costly at 3 Lightning Energy and 1 Colourless Energy. Flip 4 coins and deal 100 damage for each Heads flipped. It is a 1 out 16 chance to deal 400 damage.
Lillipup + Herdier + Stoutland
I don't normally put a whole evolution line in one screenshot. This time I did it to save time and space. In summary this evolution line is not really playable. High energy costs to deal little damage.
Cheren
In every new generation there is a new character that is affiliated to worst draw effect of Draw 3 Cards. In the Scarlet & Violet era it was Nemona. In this one it belongs to Cheren.
Hilda
Hilda is the female playable character from the Pokemon Black and White video game.
For the Hilda Supporter card you search your deck for 1 Evolution Pokemon and 1 Energy card. Reveal them and put them into your hand. Then shuffle your deck.
I think this Hilda card is really good. You can search for any 1 Evolution card which is similar to Ultra Ball and you can search for any Energy card (even Special Energy) from the deck. Hilda seems like a good combination of Brock's Scouting + Energy Loto

Prism Energy
Prism Energy provides 1 Colourless Energy in general. If this is attached to a Basic Pokemon then Prism Energy provides any type of Energy but 1 at a time.
This Special Energy card is similar to Luminous Energy from the G Regulation mark. Luminous Energy provides any of 1 type of Energy but it turns into a Colourless Energy if there is another Special Energy with Luminous Energy. With Prism Energy you can have mulitple Prism Energy on a Basic Pokemon without the drawback of Luminous Energy.
Ignition Energy
Ignition Energy provides 1 Colourless Energy and is discarded at the end of the turn when it is used.
If this Special Energy card is attached to an Evolution Pokemon then Ignition Energy provides 3 Colourless Energy instead.
As this Special Energy card lasts for one turn it would be ideal to use this on an evolution Pokemon with a Powerful attack for the turn.
New Holofoil Versions
This Unova based special sets also includes secret rares of Reshiram ex and Zekrom ex. There is monochromatic colouring of the cards.
Japan has a red Victini promo that can only be obtained in special Victini sealed format tournaments. Winners in these tournaments receive this promo card.
The Prismatic Evolutions special set was pretty crazy but this Unova special set looks to be even crazier. Japan gets these cards in June 2025 while the rest of the world waits for July 2025.
Many people's self-control, discipline and wallets will be tested.
