Hi. In this Pokemon TCG post, I cover this Okidogi and Barbarcle deck.
This is an inexpensive but competitive deck that is good for newer players and for regular players too.
Note: This post is kind of long.
Key Cards
Solrock & Lunatone
Solrock and Lunatone is a powerful duo. Lunatone needs Solrock for the draw engine while Solrock needs Lunatone for attacking.
Solrock is a big threat against the opponent's 70 HP Basic Pokemon. Lunatone lets you once during your turn discard one Basic Fighting Energy to draw 3 cards.
Barbaracle
Barbaracle as an attacker is not great. The Stone Arms ability is a good ability that can be used once during your turn. You may attach 1 Basic Fighting Energy from your hand to any 1 of your Fighting Pokemon.
Okidogi with Prism Energy
When this Okidogi came out, there were some people who were amazed by it. Some people tried to make it work in mid to late 2025 but Okidogi decks did not do well until now in early 2026.
What makes Okidogi more dangerous is having Prism Energy, Barbaracle plus a new post-rotation format. Prism Energy can be attached to a Okidogi to boost its HP from 130 to 230 HP and its Good Punch attack from 70 to 170. A single prize 230 HP attacker is really insane. 230 HP is typically reserved to some Pokemon ex Basic Pokemon.
Legacy Energy ACE SPEC
The ACE SPEC of choice is Legacy Energy. This provides every type of Energy but 1 at a time. Attach this for an Okidogi for the HP and attack boost. In addition, if Okidogi with Legacy Energy is Knocked Out by damage from an attack then the opponent takes 1 less Prize card. Instead of 1 Prize card, the opponent takes zero Prize cards for this knockout. Very powerful and annoying for the opponent.
Tarragon
Tarragon is a powerful niche recovery Supporter for Fighting Pokemon and Basic Fighting Energy. Put up to 4 in any combination of Fighting Pokemon and Basic Fighting Energy cards from your discard pile into your hand.
As Lunatone requires Fighting Energy discard for drawing 3 cards, Tarragon helps with recovery.

This Okidogi deck version is slightly different. There is one copy of Moltres and has two copies of Special Red Card. Special Red Card is from the Ninja Spinner Japan set and in the upcoming Chaos Rising set. With this red card, you can only play this if the opponent has 3 Prize cards or less. Then you can have the opponent put their hand to the bottom of their deck and have them draw 3 cards.
Advantages
Fighting A Good Type
Fighting is a good type as a lot of decks include support Pokemon ex such as Fezandipiti ex and Meowth ex. Some decks use Mega Kangaskhan ex as a draw enginge and that is weak to Fighting Pokemon.
Okidogi As a Beefy Single Prize Attacker With Prism Energy/Legacy Energy
Okidogi with a Prism Energy or Legacy Energy increases its HP from 130 HP to 230HP. In addition, the Good Punch attack goes from 70 damage to 170 damage. Good Punch upgrades to a better punch with Prism/Legacy Energy.
Cards Are Inexpensive And Easy To Find
A lot of the cards in this deck should be affordable and easy to find. Fighting Gongs, Okidogi, Prism Energy, Binacle, Barbaracle, Solrock, Lunatone and the Legacy Energy ACE SPEC should be easy to find and are low priced.
Lillie's Determination should be low in price. Finding them could be hard as this is a new staple card. Poke Pad prices have gone down since the Perfect Order release. Finding Poke Pads could be tricky as it is also a new staple card.
Easy To Use Deck
The gameplay with this deck is simple. Set up your attackers and then start attacking. Munkidori is there to move damage counters around from your Pokemon to the opponent's Pokemon. The one Bloodmoon Ursaluna is there as a surprise alternate attacker.
Disadvantages
Psychic Weakness On Okidogi
Okidogi is weak to Psychic Pokemon. Watch out for Lillie's Clefairy ex.
Reliance On Prism Energy
In order for Okidogi to get more powerful, it needs Prism Energy. Finding Prism Energy may not be that easy sometimes.
Reliance On Barbaracle
Once during your turn, you can manually attach one Energy card to your Pokemon each turn. To power up Okidogi, you need one Fighting Energy and one Prism Energy. Barbaracle is needed to accelerate energy. If Barbaracle is missing, this deck kind of falls apart.
Not Enough Firepower Past 170 Damage
A powered up Okidogis hard to knockout, but 170 damage is kind of limited. Against stronger Pokemon ex, you likely would need to 2 hit a 300 something HP Pokemon.
Closing Notes
Although this deck is not super popular, the new Okidogi deck looks good and is competitive. Most of the cards can be found easily and are inexpensive. The deck has good firepower and a good draw engine in Solrock and Lunatone. Three copies of Boss's Orders are there to target Meowth ex, Fezandipiti ex or any weak Pokemon ex.
Finding Prism Energy can be tricky and setup can be slow. Gameplay can be limited as the tasks are mostly setup stuff, then attack with mainly Okidogi.
Solrock can be used to deal 70 damage then you come in with the Bloodmoon Ursaluna.
Thank you for reading.
