Hi there. This is more of a news post for the Pokemon TCG collectors and players.
Ascended Heroes Set Delay
From the Pokemon TCG X post, there is an announcement that Mega Evolution - Ascended Heroes Collection Eriky or Larry products are to be delayed in the United States and Canada. The launch date was for January 30, 2026 but it is moved to February 20, 2026.
This means that there would be less product available from this special set. Special Pokemon TCG sets contain many card reprints from previous as well as some new cards and new art cards. In a special set, there are no booster boxes, single booster packs nor any prerelease events. Products are limited to Elite Trainer Boxes and other sealed products.
Delays like this do impact collectors and players who are itching to get new cards. Some people are after cards like the one below.
Tournament Legal Date For Ascended Heroes Moved After EU International Championship Event
For the players, the tournament legal date of Ascended Heroes is supposed to be 2 weeks after its release. That would be Friday February 13, 2026 when the European International Championships (EUIC) start.
According to Pokebeach, the Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Boxes are delayed with a release date of February 20, 2026. Cards from Ascended Heroes for tournament play would be legal on March 6, 2026 instead.
With this delay, some players are annoyed by this as they were practicing with the Japanese version of the new cards. Others may be annoyed as they want a metagame shakeup instead of seeing so much Gardevoir ex, Gholdengo ex and Dragapult ex decks.
Some new cards from the Ascended Heroes set include:
- Mega Froslass ex
- N's Zekrom
- Mega Charizard Y ex
- Mega Meganium ex
- Mega Emboar ex
- Pokepad (highly playable, new staple card)
- Psyduck Reprint
- Mega Dragonite ex
