Hi there. In this Pokemon TCG post, I feature the Lillie's Clefairy ex card and associated decks.
Lillie's Clefairy ex Card
Lillie's Clefairy ex was released from the first set of 2025, Journey Together. Some speculate that this card was made as a response to Dragapult ex.
This attacker has a unique ability called Fairy Zone. When Lillie's Clefairy ex is in play, the opponent's Dragon Pokemon have weakness to Psychic Pokemon. Your Psychic Pokemon do double damage to Dragon Pokemon especially Dragapult ex.
As Dragapult ex decks are very popular in Japan, it makes sense to run Lillie's Clefairy ex as a counter card. The Clefairy needs to do 160 damage before applying double damage weakness. You would need 7 Benched Pokemon on both yours and the opponents sides to deal 160 damage (20 + 20 x7 = 20 + 140 = 160) before applying weakness of double damage.
Other Psychic Attackers
Lillie's Clefairy can attack the Dragapult ex directly or you can have other Psychic Pokemon attack Dragon Pokemon. Other Psychic attackers that go well with this that can be used include:
- Latias ex (Hard to pull off)
- Mega Diancie ex
- Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex
- Team Rocket's Mimikyu
- Sylveon ex (Hard to pull off)
- Hop's Trevanant
- Azumarill
- Clefable
Decks That Include Lillie's Clefairy ex
There are different deck builds that include Lillie's Clefairy ex. The deck could feature Lillie's Clefairy ex as a main attacker, secondary attacker or as 1 copy in a deck.
Lillie's Clefairy ex with Mega Diancie ex & Dusknoir
Mega Diancie ex is one option as a main attacker with Lillie's Clefairy ex. As Mega Diancie's attack is capped at 240 damage, Dusknoir is there for additonal damage.
Having Lillie's Clefairy ex in play helps the Diancie one hit knockout Dragapult ex.
Sample decks can be found here.
Dragapult ex With Lillie's Clefairy ex
Lillie's Clefairy ex is a hard counter against Dragapult ex but it is also a good attacker on its own. Take a look at this rank 3 Dragapult ex deck from the Japan Champions League Fukuoka tournament. It uses one copy of Lillie's Clefairy ex for the mirror match and as an alternate attacker.
Lillie's Clefairy ex With Teal Mask Ogerpon ex
Ogerpon ex themed decks have been around for a while. They were not too popular before the Ascended Heroes format. In the new post rotation format, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, Wellspring Ogerpon ex and Lillie's Clefairy ex synergize well and provide hard opposition against Dragapult ex decks.
Wellspring Ogerpon ex provides good early game aggression against weak Basic Pokemon. Teal Mask Ogerpon ex has Grass typing which is an advantage against most Dark Pokemon. Lillie's Clefairy ex is a hard counter against Dragapult ex.
Deck example: Champions League Fukuoka Feb 21, 2026.
Raging Bolt ex, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex with Lillie's Clefairy ex
Raging Bolt ex decks have taken a hit with the loss of Professor Sada's Vitality. Japan finds a way to keep Raging Bolt ex decks alive. Although Raging Bolt ex is not a main attacker now, it can be used for hitting big numbers past 270 damage.
This rank 4 Champions League Fukuoka list uses the Noctowl engine with Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, one Terapagos ex and two copies of Lillie's Clefairy ex. Something to note also is that there is no Meowth ex in this list. As of April 2, 2026, Meowth ex prices are kind of crazy at 14 to 20 CAD a copy. A good deck without needing Meowth ex is helpful.
Closing Notes
Lillie's Clefairy ex was designed as a hard counter to Dragapult ex. In the Perfect Order format, Dragapult ex is the number one most popular deck. Either you play a Dragapult ex deck, a counter deck or a strong alternative deck that can beat Dragapult ex decks and other common decks.
For the next several months, Lillie's Clefairy ex will be very common in the format. As a standalone attacker, it can hit 180 to 220 damage easily and it provides Psychic more attacking power against Dragon Pokemon.
