Until January 8th, that's when the 3 wise men arrive, and apparently that's when we all go back to work. Reyes, I appreciate your tardiness so that I can rest.
Some minor colds going around. Yuck, let's just eat chicken soup and play video games.
I'm playing Book of Demons
Its a Diablo 1 throwback, the story is pretty bland, traveler comes and takes the stairs ever down to face the Devil below, in this case 'The ArchDemon'. Even after he is dead though, the labrynths of hell are infinite and I keep plunging along looking for monsters to hunt.
So its not for the story, but the fun gameplay that I am enjoying.
Here is Freeplay mode, you can choose from any of the 3 types of dungeon from the main game, I am currently grinding Nightmare to open up the Massacre difficulty, let's set up a game in the Maze style.
Nightmare mode 'imposes cards', a sort of restriction on the deck system that the game has going on. This round I get meteor, which I don't mind as it blasts away shields, as well as the crazy hat, which I do find valuable.
I take some to line up my cards, without forgetting the 'secondary stash' which is where all of my potions go, because Nightmare dungeons can get quite fun!
Let's see how it goes.
First of all, its really hard to get good screen shots, because during the gameplay I am furiously clicking as fast as I can, but let's see how these turned out.
Well it seems this game might be better for a stream than a snap....
Its a clicker, that's for sure!
You have to click your cards, click the monsters shields, click the prizes, click to stop monster spells.... it can feel hectic!
And then there are the bosses. Generally there are one or more in each level, and in Nightmare mode they deactivate a further 3 or sometimes four cards, meaning there is even more intricate thinking involved and there is no time to revise your hand except in the time slowing (but not stopping) card menu.
But we battle on!
Each Boss has a set number of stages, if you make it through all the stages, the boss dies and usually gives big prizes!
At the end of the few levels of 'big' dungeon, we get points based on how thorough we were.
All in all, I would rate this game Book of Demons, highly, and will probably play for enough hours to have a stab at getting most of the Steam Achievements.
Have you played this game? Let me know!
