Sul, Sul Simmers! I have been exploring the gardening Career in the Sims 4 these few days. And I have had some fun with weird plants, magical trees and becoming a PlantSim. This post is all about that.
The Gardening career belongs to the expansion pack Seasons. You get the opportunity to get on vacation, four different seasons and different kind of weather. But you also get the Gardening Career witch I am going to write about in this post.
In this post I want to show you:
1.The secret world in Willow Creek
2.How to become a PlantSim and how to survive as it.
3.What is a Cowplant?
Secret world you say?
When you are in the game world Willow Creek, you have to go visit "Crick cabana lot" and you will find this special tree right by the lot.
Your sim can click on the tree and can chose to "view" or "water" it. Water it until you can "complement on Leaves" and after a while you got the option to explore the tree.
When you enter the tree you will get different kind of options on what you want as your sim entres deeper and deeper into the tree. Always click on the option that makes your sim go further in.
And after a few clicks, you enter this amazing world!
There isn't much to do there, but with a simple cheat code you have the opportunity to build something at this lot. There is a pond and a waterfall where you got the opportunity to go fishing or look for frogs.
It's so pretty and pink!
How to become a plant sim
Your mission is to grow a Mystical Magic Bean Portal Tree. This wasn't as easy as I hoped for. It did take a lot of money (simmilions) and time.
First I had to make my sim 10/10 in gardening, and that opens up for my sim to buy the "rare plants" pack.
You need two things to grow a tree
- Magic PlantSim Stump
- Magical Beans
When you purchase the "rare plants" pack you get lucky if you get one or more of the beans in them. I think I bought up for 20 of the rare plants packs before I got all the six different kinds of the magical beans. You can purchase them through a flower pot or the computer.
Place the magical beans in the Magic PlantSim Stump. You need to plant six different kinds of the magical beans.
When you planted all of the six magic beans you have to water it a few times. And then the Stump will become the Mystical Magic Bean Portal Tree. It grows right away!
I really love the look of the tree. It actually glows in the dark and it is as magical as it gets. This was so much fun!
After the tree have grown you have to Explore The Mystical Magic Bean Portal Tree:
And your sim will hopefully come out of the tree with a Forbidden Fruit of the PlantSim.
Click on the Forbidden fruit and chose to eat it.
You can find the forbidden fruit in your sims inventory. It looks like this:
Time to eat:
And she finally turned into a PlantSim! This is so much fun, and I love the green hair too.
How to survive as a PlantSim
There is a few differences, and it's a little bit harder to survive as a PlantSim than a normal Sim.
A PlantSim needs to make sure to get watered.
But she doesn't need to pee like a normal Sim. A PlantSim need to be in the sun to get her hunger up. But there is a bad thing about beeing in the sun too, because she will get dehydrated. And I felt that is a really bad sircle. She couldn't take a normal walk around the area without getting dehydrated because of the sun. If she is dehydrated enough she will turn back to a normal sim.
But you can get both water and sun if your PlantSim play with the water in the garden. I figured out this was the best way to get both of two worlds.
The best part about being a PlantSim is that
gardening is so much easier. You got the abilities to talk to the plants to build your sims social skills. And Gardening goes much faster and easier.
I really loved the look of being green, and a little change wasn't that bad at all. It's fun with challenges.
Your sim is only a PlantSim for 5 days.
Your PlantSim will glow and get leaves around her when she is getting sun on her skin.
There is an another way to become a PlantSim
or maybe just green? I tried this as the first thing in the game, because it was way too easy:
- Buy an ice machine (The Sims 4:Cool Kitchen Stuff)
- Make your sim good in cooking, so your sim can make "Plant Matter".
The plant matter ice cream makes your sim green, but she don't get the green hair or the benefits of what a PlantSim have. She only turns green, and this only lasts for 3 sim hours.
What about the Cowplant berries?
This is an another fun thing about the magical tree. Because it's hard to find these berries. There is a few ways to get it: You can get it after entering the magical tree. You also can get it through the rare plant seed pack. But you can also find the berry through fishing, digging or exploring space with a space racket.
You have to try to plant it. Water it as normal and you will see it grows into a nice Cowplant:
This Cowplant can actually kill your sim.
I remembered the first time I got it, I played with a sim that wasn't good in gardening and I think she actually got eaten right away.
You have to feed it, pet it and make the plant happy. If your sim have over 2 logic points she can actually milk it to get cowplant milk or what it's really called "Essence of life".
This is my sim getting eaten by the cowplant, but luckily got spitten out:
The Cowplant shows a cake when it's hungry. If you chose to eat the cake, you get eaten by the Cowplant. But if you give the Cowplant food, you are all good.
After around 12 hours without food, your Cowplant will die out:
A flower for The Grim Reaper?
I have written a lot about The Grim Reaper, and I'm not going to tell an another story about him. But I found this Death flower during my journey. I even planted it so I could get more of them, but it didn't blossom at all.
I hope I will get the opportunity to try out this flower on the Grim Reaper.
All in All: A little bit fun.
There is a lot of things to do in the gardening career and I'm not sure if I have experienced it all. I mean, there is so many different kinds of seeds, and I have planted a lot of them in my garden. But Cowplant, Magical Portal Tree and the Death Flower may be my favorites. Even tho I haven't tried out the Death Flower yet. I guess there have to be around 80-90 different kinds of seeds in total in this game.
I hoped it would be more benefits of being a PlantSim, because the journey there was so long and costed my sim a lot of simmilions. It's also sad that PlantSims can't have babies, because vampires, aliens and mermaids can.
