In another post, I talked a little bit about the Mother series as part of the nostalgia. At the end of that post, I showed some images of Mr. Saturn.

For those of you who still haven't caught on, I am talking about the Hobonichi Mother Project. This is from the original creator of the series. They have merchandise ranging from plush toys to keychains. Some could say they are collectibles. When the items first reached the market back in October last year, they sold out like hot cakes.
After that initial roll out, you could find people scalping for them on eBay and other online shops. They became so expensive that I was considering cheaper options on Etsy. But, the Mother Project restocked and I was able to grab a few things along with $25 shipping and handling.
I got two Mr. Saturns plushies from the other side of the globe and I couldn't be happier. It's somewhat funny to have the kids ask "what are they?" and I tell them that they are Mr. Saturns. This is usually followed up by "what's a Mr. Saturn?" Of which, I give them the sheepish shrug. The truth is, nobody knows who or what a Mr. Saturn is even if you have played the games. What the creator, Shigesato Itoi, tells us is that it is a symbol of innocence in the game.
Anyways, for me, it's about nostalgia.
Well, with that said, enjoy the themes of Saturn Valley from both Earthbound and Mother 3.
