¡Hola amigos! En el día de hoy se me ocurrió hablarles de aquel primer videojuego que recuerdan haber jugado. Quizá ya se habló en otra ocasión de esto, pero no estaba presente en esta comunidad o en la Blockchain. Estuve pensando mucho en esto porque el otro día hablando con mi mamá me acordé de cuando teníamos el Sega Génesis y la consola NES. En ese momento no teníamos muchos cartuchos de juegos, pero había una especie de videoclub, tipo Blockbuster pero de juegos, cerca de casa donde te permitían alquilar los juegos para estas consolas y otras.
Hello friends! Today I thought I'd tell you about that first video game you remember playing. Maybe this has been talked about before, but it was not present in this community or in the Blockchain. I was thinking about this a lot because the other day talking to my mom I remembered when we had the Sega Genesis and the NES console. At that time we didn't have many game cartridges, but there was a kind of video store, Blockbuster type but for games, near home where they allowed you to rent games for these consoles and others.
Era muy gracioso porque en ese entonces tenía unos 5 años, y solía alquilar los mismos dos juegos de siempre, nada más. El lugar estaba lleno de juegos y yo ahí siempre con esos dos. Uno era el World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck y el otro era Sylvester and Tweety in Cagey Capers. Quizá los hayan jugado también o los hayan escuchado nombrar.
Los jugaba una y otra vez, nunca me cansaba.
It was very funny because at that time I was about 5 years old, and I used to rent the same two games as always, nothing else. The place was full of games and I was always there with those two. One was World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and the other was Sylvester and Tweety in Cagey Capers. You may have played them too or heard of them.
I played them over and over again, never tired of them.
Mi favorito de estos dos era el de Mickey Mouse y el Pato Donald. Era de plataforma multijugador, pero la mayoría de las veces lo jugaba sola. Ambos personajes tenían niveles en común y otros propios de cada personaje. Llegué a terminar varias veces el juego con los dos personajes. No era tan complicado en sí, había que ir sorteando obstáculos y congelando o transformando a los enemigos con nuestra capa mágica. Los niveles tenían escenarios variados y muy coloridos, creo que eso me llamaba mucho la atención. Me encantaba el nivel dónde estaban las cosas dulces, como galletas, tortas, chocolates y los bastones de caramelos.
My favorite of these two was Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. It was a multiplayer platformer, but most of the time I played it alone. Both characters had levels in common and others unique to each character. I managed to finish the game several times with both characters. It was not so complicated in itself, you had to avoid obstacles and freezing or transforming enemies with your magic cloak. The levels had varied and colorful scenery, I think that caught my attention. I loved the level where the sweet things were, like cookies, cakes, chocolates and candy canes.
Sí me sorprendió la dificultad de los jefes de cada nivel. A este juego lo volví a jugar hace unos pocos años y me di cuenta de que se me hacían un tanto complicado algunos y cuando era niña los pasaba de taquito jajaja, aunque también me la pasaba jugando. Ahora estoy un poco oxidada, hace mucho que no toco un joystick. Todo lo que juego lo hago con teclado.
I was surprised by the difficulty of the bosses in each level. I played this game again a few years ago and I realized that some of them were a bit complicated and when I was a child I passed them by tapping, hahaha, although I also spent a lot of time playing. Now I'm a little rusty, I haven't touched a joystick for a long time. I play everything I play with the keyboard.
Mi mamá se reía porque recordó que lo devolvíamos y lo volvíamos a alquilar en el mismo día. No podían hacer que eligiera otro jajaja. Tenía una fijación particular con este. No es un juego muy largo, pero sin dudas le dediqué gran parte de mi tiempo en ese entonces.
My mom laughed because she remembered that we returned it and rented it again on the same day. They couldn't make me pick another one hahaha. I had a particular fixation with this one. It's not a very long game, but I certainly devoted a lot of my time to it back then.
Con el de Sylvester y Tweety me pasaba que me gustaba pero se me hacia muy difícil. Nunca pude terminarlo. Se supone que debíamos cazar a Tweety y teníamos un par de obstáculos en el camino, como otros personajes que si nos agarraban nos podían hacer perder el juego, la abuelita, el perro (que ahora no recuerdo el nombre) e incluso el mismo Tweety creo que se transformaba en un pájaro gigante amarillo que nos atormentaba.
With Sylvester and Tweety's I liked it but it was very difficult for me. I could never finish it. We were supposed to hunt Tweety and we had a couple of obstacles in the way, like other characters that if they caught us they could make us lose the game, the granny, the dog (I don't remember the name now) and even Tweety himself I think he transformed into a giant yellow bird that tormented us.
Requería mucha habilidad, había que esconderse, agarrar objetos, moverlos y tratar de completar los niveles sin que nos atrapen y nosotros atrapar a Tweety. Para una niña de 5 años era todo un reto.
It required a lot of skill, you had to hide, grab objects, move them and try to complete the levels without getting caught and we had to catch Tweety. For a 5 year old it was quite a challenge.
Me encantaría volver a jugarlo ahora de grande para ver qué tal me va. Me di cuenta que es una deuda que tengo pendiente. Así que espero cumplirla pronto. De hecho armar esta publicación me esta dando muchas ganas de bajarme un emulador y buscarlo.
I would love to play it again now when I grow up to see how it goes. I realized that it's a debt I have pending. So I hope to fulfill it soon. In fact, putting together this post is making me want to download an emulator and look for it.
Por supuesto que jugué a un montón de juegos de esta consola, y de la NES todavía más, que me gustaban mucho y aún los recuerdo. Pero quería hablarles de estos 2 por ser los primeros videojuegos que jugué por mi cuenta y me tenían obsesionada.
Of course I played a lot of games from this console, and from the NES even more, that I liked a lot and I still remember them. But I wanted to tell you about these 2 because they were the first video games I played on my own and I was obsessed with them.
