The story of the game
Well, I don't know where to start with this point, unfortunately Mortal Shell has the worst story presentation I've ever seen, the game is devoid of any cinematic scenes and there is no narrator to even mention what is happening on the screen.
The game depends entirely on the player's understanding of the events on the screen with some readable information that he will find here and there completely randomly and unfortunately even this information is written in a language that is not enjoyable at all, which is a mixture of thoughts and memories.
The problem of the story is complicated by the monotonous performance of the game. In the beginning, you will find yourself playing for a very long time, up to many hours, until you know at least some of the main story elements.
Even the design of the map and the game world does not help push the story forward in any way because there are many roads and axes and these methods may lead you to areas where there is no information about the story, especially since the game does not draw you a specific line to walk in, but rather gives you freedom to roam in a world The game as you like.
In any case, the idea of the game revolves around a spirit that is able to enter the body of the dead and control it while you play with this spirit and enter the shell that you want to start confronting the enemies within the game world.

Mortal Shell belongs to the category of Souls Like games, so the game follows an approach to greatly increasing the game's difficulty level, which has already happened, so you do not expect that you can attack enemies easily and direct deadly strikes.
If you receive one hit, you will find your health indicator collapses very quickly, even if the hit is from the weakest enemies, the game originally depends on avoiding strikes, not striking the enemies.
At the same time the game offers you many fun fighting methods, for example when you receive hits you have more than one way to avoid them, you can do the usual dodge "Dodge", you can also do Parry, but it needs a very good timing to complete and finally "Harden" can be done The character turns into a solid stone and can take one hit without damaging your health level.
This diversity is wonderful in reality and gives you a lot of options, especially with different types of enemies, so every enemy has a way to fight, but in fact the Harden feature may be considered the strongest among all these advantages.
The game also contains all the indicators found in all fighting games, you have the level of health and you also have the level of endurance, which is a very important indicator because every movement the character makes detracts from this indicator and when this indicator drops to zero, the character will not be able to direct new strikes or even You dodge only after a very small period of time has passed but it may cost you your life.
The enemies
Of course, a sword fighting and dueling game that requires carefully designed enemies, and this did not happen in Mortal Shell because despite the variety and abundance of enemies, each of the enemies has one style of fighting and even movement.
This repetition is completely illogical and kills the difficulty of the game in the first place, as you only need one confrontation with each enemy in order to memorize the pattern in which he attacks, and then you can literally fight this enemy hundreds of times without any hit.
It is clear that the developer was aware of this point and knows very well that the enemy is protected, so he used a very cheap trick to increase the level of difficulty of the game, as he put many enemies in completely blind corners and not visible at all as if the game forces you to take a hit here and a blow there until you feel difficult.
These angles do not have any solution except to receive a blow, when you play Mortal Shell and receive a blow from an enemy that suddenly appears, do not be hard on yourself, as this matter is deliberate by the developer and is cheap at the same time.
