Naughty dog has a few things on their plate, and in all honesty, I’m only semi excited about one of them, so let’s get down to it!
Naughty Dog’s Unnamed Fantasy Game.
Naughty Dog is working on an unnamed fantasy game! This game is currently in development and Neil Druckmann is going to have nothing to do with it! And I say thank god! If ND wants this game to succeed, they need to steer Druckmann far away from this game, because if he is able to write even a single line of dialogue for the game, it’s a given that he will be inserting his own personal beliefs into it, just like he did with TLOU2.
The Last of Us 2, Multiplayer.
This is something I’m super skeptical about. The Last of Us 2 Multiplayer is in development and will launch as a separate edition of the game. The multiplayer mode started off as a battle royale title before being scrapped. The current version they are working on is a mix between “Escape from Tarkov”, and “The Division,” whatever that could mean. But hey, this isn’t all. The multiplayer will also have a “single player experience”. And if the way Neil handled the TLOU2 is any indication of where the “story” will go, it’s going to be full of wokeness and gender identity politics, and have a horrible story.
When it comes to TLOU2, its fan base is so goddamn toxic that it isn’t funny. If you criticize anything about the game, you’re going to get two replies either,
You’re just mad because Joel is dead, which admittedly I am, but if you’ve read my TLOU2 : A controversial Opinion article you would know it’s because ND put zero effort into hiding why the WLF was looking for Jackson.
You’re a Transphobic, racist, bigot. And it’s no wonder why fans respond this way, because Neil has responded the exact same way to anyone who criticized the game. He literally tweeted out that if you don’t like the game, the above reasons are why (paraphrasing). After backlash, he quickly deleted the tweet and put out an apology using the “It was just a joke, bro” excuse.
If Neil is in charge of the “story” element for the multiplayer game, I’ll be staying far away from it.
The Last of Us Part 3.
Yup, you read that right. It is something I am not excited at all about for the above reasons and reasons you can read in TLOU2: A Controversial Opinion. I’m not going to state them in this article because it will be around ten pages long, if I did.
But a concept for TLOU Part 3 has been drawn up and shown to the bigwigs, however it is currently not in development. And I say thank god. According to the leak, it is because of the multiple projects ND has on its plate.
The Last of Us Remake.
No, not the PS4 version. To be fair, this part isn’t a part of the leaks, but since I talked about it in the video, I figured it was only fair to type a bit of it out.
The Last of Us Remake for the PS5 has been known to be in development for a while. And there is no wondering in why. Despite the mediocre TLOU Part 2, number 1 is a masterpiece, and that’s a hill I am willing to die on.
More than likely I will buy this game if I ever get a ps5, but I won’t be buying it new. I refuse to buy things from a company that condone the actions of people like Neil, calling critics of their games down. If I did go to buy it, you bet your ass, it will be a second-hand copy.
I can see this game releasing shortly, before, or alongside the T.V Show. And can see ND milking TLOU 1 for as much money as they possibly can.
