This is my favorite time of year. You might think that it’s because Christmas is just around the corner, or that it’s because of the fresh snow on the ground, but you’d be wrong. Christmas to me is just like any other day, and I hate snow. No, it’s my favorite time of year because of Steam. Steam is known for having at least one big sale per season, and its Black Friday sale has just come and gone. And my wallet is screaming out in pain.
It’s very rare that I buy a new release. I find that a lot of games aren’t worth the $100+ CAD that they cost. Instead, I often find myself playing “older games”. I actually have a problem where I’ll buy a copy of a console game that I already own on Steam just so that I’d have an excuse to play it again. And that is exactly what happened during this Steam Sale.

I also drop around $100 - $200 during these sales as some prices are just too good to pass up. Steam is infamous for having sales on its games where you can see games marked down usually anywhere from 50%-90% during its winter, summer, spring, and fall sales. And this sale was no different.
You might remember in my Why PC Gaming Sucks post I talked about taking advantage of the sale to grab some more games for my COD collection on Steam. COD games are one of those infamous franchises that never get marked down on Steam, except during sales. So, not wanting to pass up the opportunity, I bought quite a few Call of Duty’s.
I got Black Ops 3 Zombie Chronicles for $30, Black Ops 6 for $50, and Vanguard for $40. I saved myself around $100 on COD games. But those were not the only ones I bought as while I sifted through the sale, some other games popped out to me.

To be more specific, South Park: The Fractured But Whole. I have this game for the PS4, and actually earned the platinum in it, but I have been debating on getting the game on Steam, as I plan on using the series ( stick of truth, and snow day) for a video that I have planned over on my new YouTube channel Deep Dive Gaming. And seeing as the game only cost $7 dollars I bit the bullet and bought it along with the season pass.
I was hoping that Stick of Truth or Snow Day was on sale too, but they were not. Even though Fractured Butwhole was on sale, it was part of a different Ubisoft Sale, one that didn’t see the rest of the franchise discounted. But I also took advantage of that sale and picked up Farcry 6 along with all the DLC.

During the last Ubisoft Sale, I picked up pretty much every single Far Cry game, except for 6. I had never played 6 before, but seeing as it was marked down by around 80%, I said, what seems to be my favorite catchphrase when it comes to spending money, What the hell, might as well.
Farcry 6 Gold Edition usually costs $130 , but I got it for $32, while the Fractured Butwhole with the season pass costs $70, I got it for $13. So saying that I made out like a bandit during this sale is a big understatement. Oh I almost forgot I also bought the RDR Remaster!
Now, I’m I actually going to play these games, or will they just be like a large portion of my Steam library and remain unplayed?
