Back with the 7-th part with the virtual tour of flying around the world in real-time, in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Last time I arrived in Peru, in the vicinity of a mountain town named Chachapoyas. In this post, you will see the content of flying over the amazing Peruvian landscape.
If you have missed my previous world tour content and want to see these posts then the list is here.
First flight Alaska to Canada
Second Part Canada to USA
Third part Washington to New Mexico
4-th part New Mexico to Floida
5-th part Florida > Bahamas > Haiti
6-th part Haiti > Peru
The is an understatement that the landscape in Peru is beautiful, It's absolutely gorgeous. All of the west coast is a high altitude mountain range and this is exactly where I decided to cross the country because you know I love mountains.
In this post, you are seeing the content where the yellow line runs in South America on the map.
As I said, this area is very mountainous and I absolutely enjoyed flying there.
Small mountain village
Huascaran mountain reaches up to 6768 meters in height.
Champaran mountain. You also see some glaciers forming on the side.
Look at the mountain patterns. I believe these canyons are formed by glaciers that once existed there but they are melted away.
This is already in the Central part of Peru.
I decided to fly right over the coast to see the capital of Peru, Lima.
Shot from the ground.
Just amazing! My jaw dropped almost everywhere. 😂
Coropuna mountain,6425 meters above sea level.
In Peru, there are actually many towns and even cities on a very high altitude. One of them is here. I don't know the name, unfortunately. I am failing to find it on the map.
I landed at Mariano Melgar airport for a refuel, not too far from the coast.
It was late and the sun started to go down but I still decided to take another pretty short flight to complete Peru. I don't want to fly at night because, well, you don't see much.😀 Flying during the sunset and golden hour can be really nice tho.
The next shot is taken after I Left Peru and took a glance into Bolivia. Right next to the border is Sajama mountain that looks to be an extinct volcano. The top reaches up to 6542 meters in height.
Another view to the same mountain.
Umurata mountain on the border of Bolivia and Chile. Also an extinct volcano, you can see a crater on top.
I landed nearby in a Socorama airfield, in Chile. This is the end of this part of the tour. Next up is crossing Chile in the remainder of South America. This is gonna be absolutely gorgeous as well in the desert mountains. Will, start the next flight today.
It took me 4 hours and 10 minutes to cross over Peru, from north to south.
Until the next time!
