Right after reporting on the GSC Games sale for STALKER which is donating money for Ukrainians in need during the war, some other crazy sales have started happening. These may not be so charitable, but savings are savings and I'm always into them. The big event right now is definitely the Xbox Game Studios sale, which has all Microsoft games on Steam going for a relatively nice discount.
One of my personal favorites that's gotten tons of playtime on Game Pass, Age of Empires IV has a very mild sale but seems to be getting promoted quite heavily. Even if it's just 10%, it's still 10% on an incredible game, an amazing comeback.
Of course all the other games you might expect are there, with some crazy nice savings on Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves and Killer Instinct, which even if are a little bit dated by now are still very much active and incredible games on their own, with Sea of Thieves having a very rocky launch at start but now being a very solid co-op game to have fun with some friends, and Horizon 4 still having a very active player base and things to do.
Killer Instinct is definitely a lot of fun and is a very good modern take on the classic formula, not the best one out there but for the price it's almost a no-brainer.
Somethings else Steam is having right now is the BAFTA Game Awards, filled with artsy games that are quite incredible experiences.
Unfortunately my personal favourite and that I recommend everyone play, It Takes Two, isn't discounted. Luckily it's on Gamepass and it's how I've been playing it with my best buddy irl. It's the most fun we've had in years.
And finally, Activision is pretending to get you good deals on games that are older than most of their current player base. Sure, the games are discounted, but it's still a bit too steep paying R$39,99 for Black Ops 1 in 2022. A dead game that's way too old.
They're great games but for this price...
And lest we forget, the new ones aren't even on Steam, and get regular 50% discounts on Battle.net.
Sure thing, Activision, let me sell my motorcycle to buy your collection. This is, pardon my language, fucking ridiculous.
Only 53 games for almost my entire monthly wage. WHY.
Just... Don't buy it. It's a sale, but it just feels like a lie.
My friend bought Black Ops 1 despite already owning it on PS3 and I'm utterly disappointed.
Anyways, that was what I saw getting back home. It's 8pm right now here in Brazil, after a really damn tiring day, it's nice to see some games for cheaper... But I'm not buying anything.
There is some really good stuff in there, specially in the BAFTA Game Awards and Xbox Sales, but unfortunately nothing for me this time around, since Game pass is a thing and most of the BAFTA games don't interest me all that much (please don't kill me).
Thanks for reading my fellow dudes and dudettes, have a nice one. I need a shower.
