Have we ever thought or wondered why we can’t ignore our favourite games or just anyone ?
Even when we win all the levels or stages what do we do? We look for a way to reset the game and start all over or we just continue playing in loops without achieving any progress.
Now do you think that’s an addiction or a bad habit? No of course! It’s a very good one actually and I will tell you why.
There is a reason gaming is so engaging and it goes beyond graphics or gameplay most times it even feels so spiritual lol and that is because It connects with something deeper in the human mind.
Personally I can’t even explain my love and feelings for games, few years after I was born or right when I became wise or knowledgeable enough to recognise games I never let go of games.
I started playing from the days of Java phone’s down to the symbians before we started having our old type androids, we even saw a lot of consoles from the game boys to Nintendo consoles to PlayStation 2 wheere I became the king of soccer 😂 and here we are now with a whole lot of realistic and intellectual games so why does anyone think I would stop now?Games are built around progress, just like human life and growth you start the games at a level then you improve, you unlock things or stages/levels and automatically you move forward, now that sense of progress is satisfying because it gives a very clear feedback.
You know when you are improving, and that feeling keeps you coming back.
There is also challenge. Not too easy, not too hard but at least they are just enough difficulty to keep you focused and that balance creates engagement, because your mind stays active trying to solve something just like my post from the previous day when I said our mind keeps loops open and always think about our unfinished tasks and gaming is part of it for some people but it’s not bad because games are educational and trains us in some ways.
Another thing that keeps us coming back to the games is the fact that we have absolute control!
How do I mean? In games, your actions have direct results because when you press something, something happens and immediately you see the effect clearly just like it happens In real life but some times im our own reality of humans results are not always that immediate or clear and thats where games breach the gap!
So gaming creates a space where effort feels more directly connected to our outcome.
That’s why people return to games not just for fun, but for the experience of progress, challenge and control all in one place.
