I think Todd Howard knows his team can't deliver a Fallout experience as good without players helping them improve. As you said, they're bloating, spending a ton of money, and the results are far worse than New Vegas, which is universally praised everywhere as the best Fallout since Tactics or Fallout 2, depending on which one you consider the latest. As for me, I hope you, fans of the series, get a very good game.
