The previous days we had a single part of the story each. Today we seemed to have gotten 2 parts worth to tell one part. The three main sections of the story were about the three "Deadly Selves" but this third part was about Zibai returning to life and then not actually being all there yet.
Anyway so I was concerned the devs were bringing up Chinese folklore but applying it through Freudian psychology. Glad that was wrong. Ziqiao wasn't the superego at all. She really was "vice" which represents the Youjing piece of the soul. I'm not sure it really works with who she was though. I mean she supposedly selflessly assisted in the protection of Liyue but the girl we met wouldn't believably do that. I mean on a whim maybe but how long would that last and how well would she function in that role? I suppose though there is an argument to be made that the gods act in inscrutable ways because we mere mortals can't understand them. I mean Morax himself introduced himself to us after faking his death and retiring from his role in order to test humanity's ability to take care of itself, though this played out with the whole nation almost going to civil war.
I do hope the multiple personality disorder isn't just her personality moving forward and the next time we see her it'll just be her and not her still switching between personalities.
Another year another Lantern Rite and now we're headed back to celebrate Chinese New Year some more with Zenless Zone Zero! That one's looking really snazzy too!
