Overview
LightNite or Light⚡Nite is an upcoming third person play-to-earn game based on the Lightning Network. Players can earn Bitcoin by participating in regular gameplay and community events. The game is carried by the Elixir Launcher, among with many others, which can be found here.
Gameplay
As of August 2021, the game has three main modes that players can play: the traditional PvP Team Deathmatch and Free-for-all modes, in which players face off with each other in two teams (Red and Blue). Players can pick up different types of weapons from the ground ranging from Assault Rifles, SMGs, Launchers, and Melee. Health and Shield pickups can also be found to keep the fight between players going.
A PvP match lasts for 5-10 minutes, depending on the host player's settings before starting the game. This gives an option for people who want to play a quick match, or for ones who want a longer experience.
For now, there are only two PvP maps, Hospital and Military Base. Keep in mind that the game is still in development, and will surely come out with new maps (and a new mode 😉 ) in the future.
The third mode, which is PvE, is Covid 19 Survival. It is the current play-to-earn mode where players are given 3 minutes and some eggs to destroy.
This doesn't come easy as there are Covid Particles that spawn from said eggs that try to stop the player from getting a higher score. The reward can be claimed by reaching at least a score of 1,000 points. This will award the player with 100 SATS (Satoshis, or 0.00000001 BTC) and a random (NFT) cosmetic item which can be traded in the Elixir Marketplace or transferred to your wallet. Of course, better scores gain better rewards, so try your best to get the highest score possible. Below are some gameplay screenshots of the mode:

How much is the game?
The game (right now) costs $20 for early access. The game is reportedly going to release with a September 2021 target date, along with its upcoming battle royale mode.
Final thoughts (and some links)
So, is Light⚡Nite worth your time? For me, yes. The gameplay is fun enough even for an early access game, and the community provides weekly events for additional rewards. It doesn't promise you a get rich quick kind of play-to-earn, but it does give you a earn while playing for fun vibe. Compared to other play-to-earn games, Light Nite's gameplay shines above all. I mean, where else have you seen a third-person shooter that lets you earn BITCOIN (albeit a small amount) as a reward for just playing and having fun?
At the end of the day, players should prioritize having fun over the earning when playing video games. And Light⚡Nite does that well enough for me to continue playing it daily.
