It is time for the next Path of Exile event!
It is time for... the Endless Heist!
And by "Endless", I really mean getting to level 50 to get my free Atlantis Mystery Box. π Because, at this rate, there is nooooo way I'm levelling further than that, even for the chance at getting into the random chance draws.
In the last event -- the Endless Delve -- I managed to score some body armour from the mystery box! For this next one I'm hoping for some other item of clothing to match it, or perhaps a cool portal effect, or maybe even some wings! That'd be spiffy.
And so, it's time to introduce my character for this event!
Andddd... I made a ranger!
And although I had the option to jump into this in a tradable fashion, I decided to go with Solo Self Found. Simply because I never use the trading website until high level anyway and I really don't see the point in a voided event. Unless I was trying to rush and be number one or something. Which I'm not.
With this character, I'm going to go for evasion, movement speed, defensives, etc. And leave masses of ballistas in my wake! Muahaha!
Levelling in Endless Heist seems a little slower than it was levelling in the Endless Delve, but that doesn't stop my assertion that this type of game mode would be fantastic as a permanent addition to Path of Exile. An Adventure Mode! Where you choose to do Heists / Delves / Mapping, or the repetitive campaign.
It's clearly doable.
Pleeeeeeease, Grinding Gear Games! Non-campaign Mode!
So, levelling is pretty damned slow. And you know what else is slow? Gearing up. It's as though the game knows I'm a ranger with intent on bows and arrows and ballistas and decided to give me everything I would've wanted if I were playing a witch!
And of course the first time I died, was the first time I found a quicksilver flask!! Just typical. π Slow movement speed for DAYS!
Finally -- a couple hours later -- I found another one! And this time retrieved it to safety for it to become my very own movement speed boost. Hooray!
Now I can move just that teensy bit faster and hopefully level that teeny bit faster.
Unfortunately, levelling is so painful in this event.
It has taken me nearly 8 hours just to reach level 23. π± As usual, there are people screaming ahead at level 60 already, and here I am, at level 23, dying inside.
I mean, to be fair, I have been constantly alt-tabbing and checking on Smashwords (I have books available for freeeee!), Hive, reading a few things, eating food, and... ignoring the game a little bit. So maybe I wasn't exactly in the mood for this today. π
But I figure I have a week to do it. Ten days technically but I also want to join in on the Atlas Invasion event too and that starts on Christmas, egads! Why have an event start on Christmas morning??? I don't have much of a life, but I have some of a life. π
But at this rate, I think level 23 is a good effort for today, and I'll do a bit more over the coming days, and hopefully get something snazzy from that Mystery Box! (Please, don't give me some crappy decoration after days of this torment.)
Will post an update once I reach this illustrious level of 50! Because it will truly be worthy of sharing. I do not recommend this event at all. Unless you reeeeeally want that Mystery Box. I'm starting to second-guess if I actually want the Mystery Box....
...
I do. π¬
Until next time! βοΈ
